Latest on #SFI26: Approximately 12,200 applications were submitted during Window 2, says @DefraGovUK. Against budget of £253 million, this means the average agreement value applied for was approximately £20,700.

I’m interested in learning how anyone who used SFI planning software (like LandApp, JustFarm, Soil Benchmark) for applications yesterday got on (having written an article about them a month ago)? Did the software help? Or did you still hit errors? #sfi26

Oh, and I can recall the original promise that SFI would have a rolling application window to break away from rigid EU deadlines and let farmers apply whenever it suited their business calendar
Half the cash allocated in a few hours.
Will it be all gone by the end of the day?
A couple of people have drawn parallels with buying tickets for major events. I’m not sure I want that parallel with government schemes that fund public good delivery.

Hearing tales of grain carts being pulled over for not being sheeted on the Lincoln bypass on the grounds of the trailer carrying an insecure load. The tractor driver was given penalty points & fined. The combine driver was also found and was fined for overloading.

Very much worth a read about the decline in wheat yield averages @woodboroughpark as climate, alongside other factors, impact.
Would be interested in whether others are seeing similar trends in harvest dates and yields over a similar time frame.
