Ukraine gave up a nuclear arsenal valued at over $1 trillion dollars, including 4,500 nuclear warheads. Guess who asked Ukraine to do this? We did.

Six days hanging naked from rebar. Four months standing in human waste until his feet rotted and his heels separated from the bone. Two healthy teeth ripped out without anesthesia. His tendons severed with a knife.
This is what Ukrainian soldier Oleksii Anulia endured during 10 months of russian captivity.
He was beaten unconscious and nearly raped. He watched two fellow prisoners being murdered. Another man was raped for nine days because he had a beard. A female teacher was raped after declaring a hunger strike.
“I asked why. They told me: ‘Because you were born a khokhol.’”
His father went looking for him and helped 46 people escape captivity. The russians captured him in Lukashivka and burned him alive alongside six others inside an Orthodox church.
Oleksii survived. Doctors wanted to amputate his legs. He refused. He wanted to walk again and return to his children.
He wrote Jingle bellZ to document these atrocities for a future tribunal.
“They broke everything that could be broken. They couldn’t break my desire to return to my children.”
This is the reality of russian captivity. The world must know the truth. Every perpetrator must face justice.

Essential reading on the wider implications of the crippling of Starlink in Ukraine 👇
1\5
America went much further than that with its recent Starshield/Starlink restrictions on Ukraine. Let me explain the effects.
Starlink is a technology that provides critical communication service to government and civilian sector, I repeat the service is critical.
So what happened, and why it matters?
Someone wanted a 2 cent lower diesel prices before the midterms, or was promised something by putin in exchange for this, maybe he just had a bad mood.
Many say Ukraine is not an ally, so the USA can just do whatever it wants, however the service that was crippled by American political leadership or at their silent approval is sold to Germany and Poland, which are part of NATO and are in critical interests of these countries to keep Ukrainian operations running, you may argue, but it's official position by the elected political leadership of these states.
Many say it's a blow to the starlink, others that it's a blow to American military industries.
I think it's much wider, it's a significant in blow to the American tech and industrial sector which has been driving Americans economy for the past decades.
I am a cloud infrastructure engineer developing on premise, hybrid and sovereign solutions. This cloud infrastructure hosts data services used in production facilities, telecom, AI, mining industries and energy sector. Essentially all critical services to a functioning state.
Right now everything is run via remote control planes. Here are more concrete 3 example in the thread below:

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.

It’s astonishing that even nearly 13 years later, this unremarkable exchange continues to be the foundational myth of a US-sponsored coup in Ukraine. This has to have been one of the most successful operations by the FSB, ever.
Incidentally, the “fuck the EU” part was also well-deserved, as the Europeans were slow-walking everything while also having a Russian informant as part of their delegation: the Latvian MEP Tatjana Ždanoka, who was reporting to her FSB handler Beltyukov. She later served as an “international observer” in the fake Crimea referendum, and is still co-chair of the Latvian Russian Union.

OTD in 2016 Gorbachev stated quite categorically that he never received a promise by NATO not to admit new members to the alliance.
He said the idea that Russia was betrayed is a myth. Which triggers my trolls.

Shouldn’t the Newsmax interviewer stop and say, actually the US gave Ukraine 0 tomahawks, or is the point just to have Trump lie to his fans all day to keep them brainwashed and ignorant?

155 out of 197 components in Russia’s deadly Kinzhal missile are American-made. According to a recent report, nearly 79% of the identified components in one of russia’s most advanced missiles come from the United States. Another 17 come from Japan, 10 from Switzerland, and 7 from Taiwan. Only ONE component is russian-made.
Russia is using Western technology to build missiles that destroy Ukrainian cities, infrastructure, and homes, killing innocent civilians. Despite years of sanctions, russia continues to obtain these components through supply chains that circumvent restrictions. If the West is serious about stopping russia’s war machine, it must stop the flow of technology that keeps that machine running.

Statement from @UkraineCaucus Co-Chairs @RepMarcyKaptur @RepBrianFitz @RepMikeQuigley and @RepJoeWilson:

ALT Social media graphic with statement from @UkraineCaucus Co-Chairs @RepMarcyKaptur @RepBrianFitz @RepMikeQuigley and @RepJoeWilson: We are alarmed by reports from Ukraine that US intelligence and Starlink support are being withheld, putting innocent civilians and American citizens in Ukraine at the mercy of Russian attacks. Congress has repeatedly made clear that the United States should provide intelligence support to save lives from Russia's merciless strikes. US allies pay for Ukraine's access to Starlink. Restrictions that put civilians in harm's way are unconscionable and will not be accepted by Congress.
US has not spent $350B on Ukraine. It has spent $132B, $33B of that is money. The rest is $21B in loans, repaid from frozen Russian assets, $4B in humanitarian aid, and the vast majority, $74B is military equipment.
Half that equipment is new, made in the US. The other half is old stockpile equipment, which soon would have had to be demilitarized at great cost. The replacement equipment is made in the US, so the money stays in the US.
Meanwhile, the EU and European countries have spent a combined $271B, more than twice as much as the US.

In just four days this October, russia wiped out five Ukrainian families.
Families who were asleep, sharing dinner, hugging their children at home — until russian strikes killed them all. Entire families. Entire generations.
🕯️ Pryluky, October 7:
▪️ 1-year-old Sashko, his mother Kateryna, and grandmother Viktoriia.
▪️ 1.5-year-old Kyrylo, his mother Daria, and father.
▪️ 8-year-old Maksym, his 13-year-old sister Iryna, their mother Yuliia, and father Oleksandr.
🕯️ Zaporizhzhia, October 10:
▪️ 16-year-old Polina, her mother Nataliia, and grandmother Vira.
▪️ 17-year-old Evelina, her mother Olha, grandmother Liudmyla, and stepfather Dmytro.
Little children whose lives had barely begun. Teenagers with dreams. Mothers and grandmothers who loved and cared for them.
Entire families, entire generations — erased by russian terror.
I honestly cannot understand how the world can watch this happen to Ukraine. I have no words left...

Vladimir Putin is trying to humiliate the Trump administration.
He attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure immediately after President Trump said Russia and Ukraine both agreed to an “energy ceasefire”.
President Trump shouldn’t let Putin get away with disrespecting him and our country.
Russian sanctions should be reimplemented. Putin thinks he can give @POTUS the middle finger.
It’s blatantly disrespectful and antagonistic.
