Thanks @KagutaMuseveni for hosting us today and for enabling a frank and insightful exchange over a broad range of topics. Lots of interesting perspectives to ponder and plenty of common ground to build on over the coming years. #GlobalProsperity
I hosted their Excellencies the EU Ambassadors, led by H.E. Jan Sadek, the EU Ambassador to Uganda, today at State House Entebbe for our Partnership Dialogue.
I emphasised that Europe should support Africa to process its raw materials, add value and create jobs. When we earn more from our products, we also create a bigger market for European goods. This is how we become partners in prosperity rather than victims of cooperation.
We also discussed support for PDM, irrigation, wetland protection and affordable electricity for manufacturing. Africa’s prosperity is good for everyone, and our cooperation should be based on mutual benefit and respect for each other’s sovereignty. I thank them for coming and I enjoyed our long discussion.

Last week, we took part in the #EUandUganda50 Research and Study Fair at @Makerere, exploring opportunities for Ugandan students and researchers to connect with Sweden and Europe.
As @SwedEnvoyUganda reflects on the event, we would like to thank @EUinUG, @Makerere, @Educ_SportsUg, member states and everyone who visited our stand, engaged with us and shared their questions and aspirations.

A pleasure to welcome my Polish colleague, H E Marcin Kubiak, visiting from Nairobi. From Uganda’s welcome to Polish refugees in the 1940s to the work of Polish missionaries, a remarkable human history connects the two countries and enriches our European partnership with Uganda.

Every October 10, we mark the World Day against Death Penalty.
The EU🇪🇺 reiterates its unequivocal opposition to the #DeathPenalty in all cases and under all circumstances. The death penalty is a cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment.
