Making an informed choice starts with understanding your options. Know how a family planning method works, its possible side effects, how to use it correctly and when to seek follow-up care. Ask questions, seek clarification and make a decision that works for your body and your needs.

Menstrual justice cannot be achieved in isolation. We need communities, civil society organisations and legislators working together to address the challenges women and girls face.
Through community education, menstrual product access, advocacy training and evidence generation, @IriseEastAfrica is working to ensure that menstrual health and hygiene remains part of the national and regional policy agenda.
The organisation’s Period Equality Network brings together over 270 partners, while the Menstrual Justice Academy equips advocates with the skills to champion change within their communities.

The Hidden Cost of Menstruation.
For many families, the cost of menstrual products remains a significant financial burden. One packet of sanitary pads may not be sufficient for an entire menstrual cycle, particularly when products need to be changed regularly.
When menstrual products are unaffordable, girls and women face difficult choices that affect their dignity, health and participation in everyday life.
Menstrual health financing and affordability must therefore remain part of the policy conversation.
#MenstrualJusticeForAll #MHHParliamentaryForumUganda
School Sanitation Must Consider Girls’ Needs.
A school’s sanitation facilities must reflect the needs of its learners.
Girls require access to toilets not only for sanitation but also for changing menstrual products and managing their periods with dignity and privacy.
Equal access does not always mean identical facilities. It means ensuring that every learner has what they need to participate fully in school.
