"This should not stop at conversations in boardrooms like here and meetings where we sit for hours, exchanging and consuming statistics. It should translate into actionable resolutions" @ObothOboth @Parliament_Ug

On #DayOfTheGirl | #IDG2026 and every day, we must act to prevent adolescent pregnancy & end child marriage. In Uganda, 24% of adolescent girls become pregnant before 18. Every girl deserves to stay in school, access health services & shape her own future. #EndTeenagePregnancy
Today is the International Day of the Girl. This #IDG2026 and every day, let’s all commit to #EndTeenagePregnancy. The time is now more than ever! Invest in girls’ rights and their power to shape their futures. #InvestInUGchildren

From Napak, I moved to Kotido District, where I visited Health Centre II in Lopuyo and a community outreach in Kalesa. It was encouraging to see integrated services well attended and organised, bringing essential care closer to women, children and families. #InvestInUGchildren

This important work, supported by @UNICEFUganda + @WFP_Uganda with funding from the Uganda Humanitarian Fund, is helping prevent child deaths from malnutrition and ensure children get the care they need. Great thanks to the health workers and community teams on ground.

Seventeen years of community service is a remarkable commitment. Cecilia’s story shows why investing in Village Health Teams matters. They are trusted members of their communities, helping connect families to essential health services and encouraging healthier practices.

Humanitarian assistance is critical when families are facing severe food insecurity. Investment in life-saving humanitarian action from the Uganda Humanitarian Fund is helping reach vulnerable children & families in Karamoja, the support translating into services on the ground.

I join the people of Uganda in mourning the passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, King of Tooro. For almost 31 years, from the age of three, His Majesty carried a responsibility few leaders have known for so long. 👉🔗bit.ly/4r11Rpy

We have seen first-hand how much His Majesty’s voice mattered. When he spoke for a child’s right to learn or a girl’s right to remain in school, people listened. #RIPKingOyo

That is part of the legacy His Majesty leaves behind: a reminder that leadership is ultimately about the lives we touch and the generations we leave better prepared for the future. My deepest condolences to the Royal Family, @ObukamaBwaTooro and all Ugandans. #RIPKingOyo

In Karamoja, severe food insecurity continues to put children at risk. Early detection and treatment of malnutrition are critical to preventing avoidable deaths. Every child reached in time is a life potentially saved. #InvestInUGchildren #BestStartInLife

In Kokurunyo, Napak, I saw first-hand what it means to bring nutrition services closer to children and families. Community-based nutrition screening is helping identify malnutrition early and connect children to treatment alongside other essential health services.

Returned from a visit to West Nile. I am inspired by the resilience & hope I encountered. Across health, child protection, youth skilling & WASH, partnerships are bringing vital services closer to children & families who need them most. When partnerships work, children thrive!

At Yumbe Youth Skilling Centre, I met young people building skills in entrepreneurship, digital literacy, social innovation and life skills. With support from the @NLinUganda and @EUinUG through #G4DU, the centre is opening pathways to opportunity. Their potential is limitless.

In Rhino Camp, I saw how a solar-powered hybrid water system is improving access to safe water for more than 4,000 refugees. Supported by @FrenchEmbassyUg, it also serves a temporary school & health post. Safe water is essential to health, dignity & wellbeing. #InvestInUGchildren
