Looking forward to walking down memory lane with my fellow Indy Bitcoiners.
Certainly some fun easter eggs in the presentation

Illinois released draft rules for its 0.2% crypto transaction tax. The tax applies to trades, wallet transfers and storage through a broker.
Indiana already blocks this. HB1042 bars state and local governments from singling out digital asset transactions for special taxes or fees.
In the absence of good regulation, you get bad regulation. We worked with Rep. @PierceforIn on HB1042 and we'll keep helping Indiana get this right.
To our Illinois friends and neighbors (@ilbtccouncil), should you decide to relocate due to xitter.cf/ilbtccouncil/status/21…, you will be welcomed.
Indiana:
Passed the Bitcoin Bill of Rights.
- House Bill 1042 (HB 1042)
- March 3, 2026, signed into law
- iga.in.gov/legislative/2026/…
- Protects the right to self-custody
- Prohibits government from imposing discriminatory taxes or fees
- Requires public retirement plans to include at least one bitcoin-linked investment
--vs--
Illinois:
Passed the Digital Asset Privilege Tax Act.
- Senate Bill 3019 (SB 3019)
- June 16, 2026, signed into law (effective January 1, 2027)
- ilga.gov/Legislation/BillSta…
- Imposes a new 0.2% privilege tax on the value of digital asset business activity provided to Illinois customers (including exchanges, transfers, and custody services)
Welcome Neighbors:
The Indy Bitcoin Meetup welcomes our new Illinois neighbors who decide to relocate to central Indiana.

Congrats fellow bitcoiner! @_spencershrader
On Sunday, the Colts released kicker Blake Grupe. Spencer Shrader wins the job after going a perfect 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts in the preseason.
