BREAKING MAJOR RESCUE OPERATION UNDERWAY OF THE NORTHWEST OF IRELAND A major search and rescue operation is underway of the northwest coast of Ireland around the center of #stormboelo this evening following distress calls from big Russian tanker carrying diesel. The UK Coastguard is coordinating a response to an Inmarsat-C Distress Alert from vessel MYRA. This potentially one of the Russian ships heading to the USA with Diesel . I hope there is no leaks as it would be a environmental disaster. The Irish air corps and Coastguard don't have the capabilities to provide cover due to the range the tanker is out Given the extreme distance from mainland coastal stations (beyond typical shore-based rotary SAR operational radius without offshore refueling) and current sea states, direct surface intervention by coastal rescue craft is technically constrained. Standard Search and Rescue protocol in this scenario relies on:Alerting nearby commercial traffic via GMDSS broadcast.Deploying long-range fixed-wing maritime patrol aircraft (such as RAF P-8A Poseidon) for top-cover monitoring and communications relay if required. This rescue operation is ongoing as off 20:57 #SAR #Mayday #Coastguard #storm #weather #ireland #uk โ€“ at Leitrim, Ireland

A distress alert from tanker MYRA led UK Coastguard to alert nearby vessels for assistance but no major rescue was underway; the ship continued sailing and trackers reported it in ballast (empty), not carrying diesel, en route to Egypt. theins.ru/news/298705 vesselfinder.com/vessels/detailโ€ฆ vesseltracker.com/en/Ships/Myra-โ€ฆ

In the winter of 1609 five hundred English colonists at Jamestown, Virginia sat inside a wooden fort beside a river full of fish and a forest full of deer and ate their horses, their dogs, their shoes, and then each other. Sixty were alive in May. They had come to find gold. Half of them were gentlemen who had never held a spade, and the colony's early years were a comedy of men bowling in the street while the planting season passed. John Smith had kept them alive by bullying them to work and by trading with the Powhatan for corn and venison. In 1609 a powder burn sent him home to England, the Powhatan closed the trade, and the colonists, who had never learned to hunt the country or fish the river in winter, barricaded themselves inside the palisade with what they had. What they had was almost nothing. A relief fleet had been wrecked on Bermuda. The garden had been eaten to the roots. The accounts, written by survivors, run through it in order: the horses, then the dogs and cats, then the rats and mice, then boots and belts boiled for the leather, then the dead dug up from the graves. One man killed his wife, salted her, and had eaten most of her before he was found and burned at the stake. In 2012 archaeologists found the skull of a fourteen-year-old girl in a cellar with the cut marks of a butcher's cleaver on it. When the Bermuda ships finally came up the river in May 1610 the men aboard found the fort's gates off their hinges, burned for firewood, and a handful of skeletons who begged to be taken home. Outside the walls the Powhatan had wintered as they always had, on venison and oysters and corn from the stores. The first English town in America starved to death in a larder, because the men who built it had come to dig, not to hunt, and would not learn from the people who knew how.

Bison are leading one of the most remarkable ecological comebacks in North American history. For more than a century, the great herds of the American bison were fragmented, broken into isolated groups by roads, fences, and human development across the Great Plains and Yellowstone region. Now, in a powerful wildlife success story, those artificial barriers are being overcome. On their own, bison are instinctively reuniting and reopening ancient migration corridors that had been lost for over 100 years. This isnโ€™t just movement: itโ€™s a profound return to ancestral memory. Large, unified herds are once again flowing across the landscape as they did in centuries past. As they travel, these iconic animals act as masterful ecosystem engineers. Their powerful hooves aerate compacted soil, their selective grazing encourages the growth of diverse native plants, and their dust wallows create seasonal watering holes that benefit countless other species. In doing so, they spread nutrients and help restore the health of the grasslands. By simply allowing bison to roam freely across their historic ranges, nature is showing us that wild ecosystems recover best when their original architects are given the freedom to lead. โ€œMr. Tambourine Manโ€ is one of Bob Dylanโ€™s most iconic songs, from his 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. Built around dreamlike, poetic imagery, it showcases Dylan at his most imaginative and lyrical, turning abstract longing and surreal symbolism into something both intimate and universal. The Byrdsโ€™ famous cover turned it into a #1 hit and helped shape the emerging folk-rock sound, while Dylanโ€™s original remains a cornerstone of his catalog and one of the great hits of the 60s.

๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ”ฅ24-year-old Tracy Chapman, virtually unknown at the time, was suddenly pushed onto the Wembley Stadium stage as a last-minute replacement when Stevie Wonder couldn't perform due to a major technical glitch (his synth hard disk went missing). Armed with just her acoustic guitar and raw vocals, she delivered "Fast Car" and left the massive 72,000-person crowd in absolute stunned silence within seconds. This iconic 1988 moment literally launched her career overnightโ€”does it give you goosebumps too? If you've ever heard "Fast Car" live (or even just this version) and didn't get chills or teary-eyed, drop your story belowโ€”I need to hear it!
