#ICExplorer SNS Swap, A Perfect Conclusion
We’re excited to announce that #ICExplorer is now officially a member of the SNS DAO! 🚀 A new journey begins from this very moment.
Let’s continue building together!

Your second store shouldn't take as long as your first.
If you like the direction your app is going and want to reuse what you already have, remix it.
If you have an online store and want another, there's no need to start from scratch. You can easily launch a new store based on your existing designs. Your online golf store can quickly become a new tennis store.

The keys to finally integrating big tech and giving users more control:
Vendor Lock-in & Cost — A handful of tech giants control almost all of the internet's infrastructure, leading to high costs and little flexibility for builders and users alike. Cloud Engines are designed to change that.
Data Sovereignty — Cloud Engines enable the Internet Computer to run applications on top of traditional clouds, making apps truly independent.
Interoperability & Decentralization — The web is fragmented, with critical services siloed across corporate clouds. Cloud Engines bridge these silos, turning isolated big tech infrastructure into integrated, decentralized services.
Cloud Engines don't replace big tech — they make it work for us, not the other way around.

This reflects a core shift in modern cloud infrastructure - ICP’s cloud engines build on principles already present in cloud architecture.
As the 'Site Reliability Engineering: How Google Runs Production Systems' handbook puts it:
“Hope is not a strategy. Automation is.”
Autoscaling and infrastructure abstraction separate application code from infrastructure capacity, meaning scaling happens at the infrastructure layer, not inside the code itself.

“Caffeine allows people who haven’t really delved into building things to get started without overthinking it.” — a Lisbon participant, after turning their idea into a working app during the latest Caffeine promptathon event.
Thank you, Lisbon, it's been great ~

We asked how easy Caffeine was to use.
Her take? 'You have this idea in your mind, then you tell what you want to build, and that stuff comes out on the other side.'
She'd never coded before but built a platform for responsible AI development - bridging the gap between coders and policymakers.
The part that stood out:
'It's still a creative process that requires your brain cells. It's not going to delete that.'

VetKeys solve blockchain's privacy problem.
But what are vetKeys?
Verifiably Encrypted Threshold Keys - a way for smart contracts to securely generate cryptographic keys directly onchain.
How does it work?
→ Smart contracts request secret keys from their hosting subnet
→ Keys generated using threshold cryptography
→ Keys stay encrypted at all times
→ No single node ever sees the full secret
→ Each node only has a share
Your smart contract becomes its own secure vault.

Bitcoin miners can unlock liquidity by selling future mining capacity, thanks to @LokaMining, an innovative protocol on ICP:
- Miners collateralize contracts with Bitcoin, significantly reducing counterparty risks
- Miners gain capital to scale operations and hedge price volatility
- Investors obtain discounted Bitcoin exposure and yield.
- Operating on ICP, the protocol ensures decentralized enforcement and transparency
The project has traction with both small and large miners, across multiple countries, indicating real-world engagement.

Start educating yourself about this topic and start monitoring your canisters!
Ideally you set up an automated cycles top-up process!
Freezing threshold: internetcomputer.org/docs/bu…
CycleOps: docs.cycleops.dev / @CycleOps
Canfund: github.com/dfinity/canfund
Canisters on the Internet Computer need cycles to run. Without them, your app stops functioning.
Here’s what happens:
⚠️ Computation stops: your canister can’t run logic or process data.
🔗 Communication fails: canisters can’t talk to each other, and HTTP calls to Web2 services don’t work.
⏳Default 30-day threshold: if your canister stays out of cycles for 30 days, it’s automatically deleted to free network resources.
💰 Refuel to restart: convert ICP → cycles and top up your canister to get everything running again.
Keep your canisters fueled and your apps alive, decentralized, and fully functional! $ICP

We believe Caffeine has the potential to be a game-changer across multiple domains - particularly in academia, where it’s already starting to make an impact.
Here are some great examples of how this is happening:

Most dApps still host their frontends on centralized servers.
Raymond Khalife from @dfinity explains how the Internet Computer serves web frontends directly from smart contracts using:
- HTTP gateways
- Certified data
- The Asset Canister
Apps like @OpenChat and ICP Ninja already run fully onchain.

Update: Caffeine is now multi-modal
What does that mean?
Caffeine’s multi-modal capabilities mean you can interact with the platform using various types of content - text, images, audio, video, and documents.
This flexibility allows you to build richer, more interactive apps, process and display diverse file types, and streamline workflows by handling everything in one place.
It also makes it easier to prototype, share, and collaborate on projects that require different media formats, all through a simple chat interface.

It took me less than 3 minutes (from typing in caffeine.ai to a live app!) and I didn’t even have to create an account! 🤯🤯
Where else can you do this??!

What are passkeys?
⭐ Internet Identity 2.0 passkeys are the secure, phishing-resistant cryptographic keys that cannot be stolen, guessed, hacked, and, unlike traditional username / password pairs, don’t require users to memorize anything.
xitter.cf/dfinity/status/1973020…
How secure is Internet Identity 2.0?
🥷 Internet Identity 2.0 uses state-of-the-art authentication security, as secure as Face ID, fingerprint, passkeys, Google and Apple authentication methods.
