ALT Heavy showers and thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon into this evening could bring both flash flooding and severe weather. Additional flash flooding is possible Monday. The intensity and length of the extreme heat will enhance impacts to both people and infrastructure. This is not the kind of heat event we see every year, and could be the hottest period of weather the area has experienced in over a decade. The heat will be especially dangerous to the young, the elderly, and other vulnerable populations. Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds will be possible today and Sunday, mainly each late afternoon and evening There is increasing confidence in the potential for flash flooding today, but especially Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.
