Today, Uganda celebrates its heroes.
Not only those whose names are written in history, but also the teachers, health workers, volunteers, community leaders, and everyday citizens who continue to make our nation stronger.
Service is one of the highest forms of patriotism.
As we commemorate #HeroesDay, may we recommit ourselves to building healthier, more peaceful, and more prosperous communities for generations to come.

To the courageous and selfless individuals who quietly shape our communities for the better. Through acts of service, compassion, and kindness, they remind us that true heroism is not only found in grand moments, but also in the positive impact we make in the lives of others.

I am at the 101st Rotary District Conference in Munyonyo. The Governor’s Ball.
The air is thick with the scent of expensive cologne and the hushed, urgent rustle of highstakes networking.
The brief etched in that firm, non-negotiable font demanded "Burnt Orange." A colour that suggests a sunset holding its breath.
But my orange? My orange is so unassuming it’s practically mythical. Non existent, really. It’s a ghost of a hue. A well-behaved ghost that checked into the hotel and forgot to show up to the party
Everyone is a flame. I am the cool, dark ash at the edge of the hearth.
Quite the delight.
