If medical students and trainees are taught to recognize symptoms of disease in only white patients and learn to perform lifesaving maneuvers on only male-bodied mannequins, medical educators may be unwittingly contributing to health disparities.

RCUK has been in discussion with @PHE_uk on the question of PPE for Health Care Professionals performing chest compressions. RCUK’s position on the need for Level 3 PPE remains unchanged and consistent with our original COVID-19 Guidance. Our statement: bit.ly/2VaI0H1

Emergency services hit hardest psychologically in incidents are often those who can’t participate & feel guilty. If you are isolating right now you are truly valued, get well & work when you can again. This is a marathon not a sprint. We are a team. Look out for each other 👍

Hi @McDonaldsUK
It’s probably better not to offer to look after NHS staff if you don’t follow through.
Lucy is our wonderful ITU matron, who has been working flat out to tackle this crisis. It made me sad to see this. Also: infection control.
1/2 So much for free drink at @McDonalds for NHS frontline staff! Stopped on way home to get food asked about the free drink and was 1st told only for staff in uniform and those on a break. Questioned this as clearly in a pandemic last think you want is NHS staff in uniform to be

Remember the most dangerous time is when you are removing PPE. It's also the time you are most likely to be tired, stressed, dehydrated and just wanting to be out of the PPE, don't rush, be methodical,

It looks like London has missed the boat to ‘flatten the curve’. ITUs are filling up with ARDS patients. We will be tripling, perhaps quadrupling, our ITU capacity within the next week or so. Please do isolate yourself if you’re elderly or have other risk factors.

It's possible in the coming days that specialists may be called upon to help out our critical care colleagues, so I thought I'd share a few tips for my fellow ophthalmologists on how to manage a ventilator. Hope this helps...
