Rolling in to Vienna and reminded that, if you go strictly off of cuisine, the capital of what was once one of Europe’s great empires is basically the culinary equivalent of Indiana.*
*This is not a criticism of Austria or Indiana. Real ones know.

You don't have to believe that AI will kill us all to see that it presents real and present dangers to human freedom even if it didn't progress one step further from current, publicly available commercial models.
AI is making us dumber, more dependent, and fraudulent.

MIT gets it.
“MIT wants to rebuild education around the things AI can't replace. That means oral exams, semester portfolios, in-person project work, and a required social component in every subject. The report even floats the idea of rethinking grades entirely, since without a GPA to optimize, much of the incentive to cheat with AI evaporates.”

Okay I’m not sure I can be on this tomorrow. That made me cry.
Tomorrow is a go pray and touch grass day.
We should have made it a federal holiday years ago to encourage civic — American — life.

Dad History is the kind of history most Americans find accessible enough to read. High-quality Dad History should be hailed for what it is: a crucial way to learn and to inform our civic debates and public understanding.

Is Kaiser Wilhelm I an underrated figure? Newly transcribed letters between him and Kaiserin Augusta show a monarch who held his own. Have we all been duped by Bismarck's self-aggrandisement?

13 months since I first tapped out the opening sentence, and 214k words later, my most ambitious book yet is finished. TWILIGHT OF THE GODS: The Battle for Europe 1944-1945' covers the last 11 months of fighting on the continent, from the Fall of Rome on 4 June 1944 to V-E Day, 8/9 May 1945. It includes all three fronts - Western, Eastern and Italian (never been done before) - and provides an answer to the big questions: Why did the Germans keep fighting long after the war was clearly lost? How were the Red Army able to absorb such huge casualties and keep fighting? Were there opportunities missed to end the war earlier? And what, ultimately, played a bigger role in Germany's defeat: Soviet mass of Western (chiefly American) economic and military power? Publication slated for autumn 2027. Can't wait @WmCollinsBooks @ArabellaPike
