Yes, we have been very busy July & August but we would expect to be, but the three months when we were closed is very difficult to recover

@TimFarron delighted to support, explains APPG can make non-partisan case for an industry so integral to Lake District & UK tourism. Thank you Tim!

Dear @BorisJohnson
Campsites have weeks until autumn. To deny families the great outdoors & single them out for extended lockdown against scientific logic and international experience, is to sign their business death warrant.

Nowhere across the Continent did they reopen hospitality but leave campsites closed because of their wash blocks. Their experience is a success: happy campers, jobs & communities protected

Please consider @10DowningStreet @michaelgove @OliverDowden @HuddlestonNigel
Risks lower in great outdoors
Camping = most socially-inclusive, affordable holiday #OneNation ?
Shared facilities already in use & some have been thru'out lockdown @DCMS
It just shows @Number10press, that @mhclg have no idea how our industry works and how diverse it is..we should never have been closed. Did @BorisJohnson not see @lakescaravans on @BBCBreakfast last Thursday..you couldn't find a safer place. Listen to your MPs @timfarron
"understood that while hotels and bed and breakfasts will be allowed to open then, tourist sites with shared facilities, such as campsites, will have to wait longer before being given the green light"

Yesterday I did my weekly shopping and spent more time in contact with other people in an hour than I would have done in a week long holiday in a self catering caravan or motor caravan. Come on, government can do better than this!
PM sets out timeline for retail to reopen in June
Hospitality to remain closed “because the risk of transmission in these environments is higher where long periods of person to person contact is required”

Used my first speech in the new virtual Parliament to urge ministers to provide a 12 month support package for hospitality & tourism.
When the lockdown ends the industry will have missed out on the feast of summer and will have to keep afloat just as the famine of winter begins.
Well measured and put @timfarron you have a unique ability to put a balanced view on events and subjects that pass your desk, on @BBCPolitics from the Lakes Caravan industry @BHHPA we thank you for your continued interest and support
