I haven’t posted much during #IBCG26, as wonderfully busy as it’s been, but I have to post this.
IMHO, the most important part of our meeting: the Patient Perspective panel.
A reminder of why we are all here. @IBCG_BladderCA @spsutkaMD @LAUrology_NL @BladderCancerUS @WorldBladderCan
20 years ago, IBCG started with a small group around a table.
Later this month, friends and colleagues from around the world gather in Houston for #IBCG26. Two days around the table tackling some of the hardest questions in #BladderCancer, debating the evidence and challenging each other on where we go next.
Looking forward to seeing you all!

Nice and congratulations
But, what a shame the investigators came under pressure to stop early…
Wonder who piled on the pressure?!
Should not have been terminated early as question of radical prostatectomy (& ablation) in this setting needs answering

Especially meaningful to see the 🌎 impact of this work, bringing together multidisciplinary expertise to help guide evidence-based care, treatment sequencing, and the next generation of clinical trials for patients with MIBC worldwide.
Grateful to our co-authors, IBCG colleagues, and @UroDocAsh for his vision and commitment to improving bladder cancer outcomes.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of broadcaster, journalist and author Edward Stourton from prostate cancer. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time.
We are grateful that Edward chose to speak openly about living with prostate cancer. By sharing his diagnosis in his memoir, Confessions, and speaking publicly thereafter, he helped raise awareness of the disease and encouraged more conversations about men's health.
Edward's legacy extends far beyond broadcasting. His book, Cruel Crossing, inspired many of PCR's own brilliant fundraisers who took part in our Freedom Trail Trek last year, helping them connect with the extraordinary courage of WWII refugees who crossed the Pyrenees in search of freedom, whilst raising funds to help create a better future for men with prostate cancer like Edward himself. It made the challenge even more meaningful, and we're grateful for the lasting impact his words had on our community.

In this article @Annals_Oncology GLP1 receptor agonists reduce cancer incidence. The focus is on those cancers linked to obesity @AparnaKamatMD . A retrospective study with a large sample size in people looking to lose weight . A detailed case/control type method. 41%⬇️ in cancer with GLP1 injections. It’s not clear if the effects of wt loss or the agonists are having an effect. Validation needed. Great work!!

PCR started investing into innovative biotechs 5 years ago, with the aim of supporting the most promising innovations to reach patients faster.
By backing these innovations early, we’re helping companies generate evidence, reach milestones and attract additional investment.
Our experience has shown that even modest, mission-driven investments can create meaningful impact for patients and the wider ecosystem. Read more about our investing experience via the following link: provenconnect.com/good-to-kn…

This week, Prostate Cancer Research, supported by the NHS, will begin sending letters to men in England who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Prostate Progress is a research initiative from PCR which combines NHS health data with patients’ experiences to help researchers better understand prostate cancer and improve future care. Taking part involves completing a short online survey a few times a year and giving permission for responses to be securely linked to NHS records.
