#IP10AVIDITY update after a strong July for recruitment
4⃣0⃣ patients recruited from 2 main sites and 2 PICs
New sites opening soon helping to answer PSMA PET clinical utility and cost-effectiveness questions
Thanks to all patients and all those involved

Not surprising - lots of extra (potentially unnecessary) ADT use for tiny glowing spots only seen on PSMA
Need to tackle the utility question - IP10-AVIDITY RCT currently strong recruitment

First spoke about focal therapy in Radio 4 Today studio in 2012, when our second phase II trial in 42 patients was published in Lancet Oncology, funded by @The_MRC, showing excellent early outcomes.
14 years later, back to talk about longterm outcomes of 3,477 pts

BREAKING NEWS 📰 A less invasive treatment for prostate cancer called focal therapy is just as effective as surgery or radiotherapy, with a lower risk of side effects, a new study has found.
The 10-year study, led by @imperialcollege, was supported by us through a doctoral fellowship, our @ImperialBRC and the Imperial Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre.
As @PreetKGillMP, Minister for Health Innovation and Safety, said: "Our National Cancer Plan sets out our ambition to transform cancer care, and backing innovations like focal therapy is exactly how we are delivering on that promise."

And fantastic to see the widespread UK media coverage today across TV, radio, and print!
Many thanks to my collaborators and mentors 🙏
