As we move into the next chapter of Haringey's LTNs, Cllr @mikehakata highlights their positive impact.
🌳 The Bounds Green, St Ann's, and Bruce Grove West Green LTNs were given the green light to continue.
Let's keep working together for a fairer, greener borough.

This morning we held a community cycle around Stroud Green, London, N4. Despite the damp day it was a joy to see children developing their confidence in cycling on the road. We set off from Finsbury Park. Our marshals did a great job in keeping us safe. 🚲 🌎🧵1/5

“I was embarrassed to think that we’d ever encouraged people to cycle this journey” 💔💔💔
Make no bones about it, a lot of Haringey is still dreadful for cycling. I’ve had near misses on all of these roads mentioned. We need change. And we need it now.

Car bores on here often wang on as if I have somehow unfairly impugned the humble SUV driver, & what business is it of mine what car they drive anyway etc. Our new report, Tractor Attack, may help to explain why I talk about this so much, and also: What Is To Be Done About It

Today I can share I'm challenging the PM on the legality of abandoning key Net Zero commitments
I believe the timeline for the UK to meet Net Zero cannot be changed at will by the PM – I contend that he does not have the legal right
The ball is in your court , Prime Minister

Cycling in towns with kids is a high anxiety activity in the UK. As well as the crash helmet wearing which emphasises the danger of cycling, the constant having to be watchful of the child, the cries to keep close, slow down, keep up etc just add to anxiety. We need #safestreets

Do we want our children to breathe in fewer harmful pollutants all day, everyday?
Ask your council for a School Street
... and tell your MP about it too!

More cars, faster cars, cars everywhere. This is a great result for anti-LTN, anti-ULEZ, anti safer streets campaigners, anyone who campaigns against restrictions on car use.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m in favour of roads for cars where they make sense - I’m a Keen Motorist myself - but this one is barely being used, and it is taking up a ridiculous amount of space.
Sign my petition calling on the council to rethink this failed experiment
