As we move into the next chapter of Haringey's LTNs, Cllr @mikehakata highlights their positive impact. 🌳 The Bounds Green, St Ann's, and Bruce Grove West Green LTNs were given the green light to continue. Let's keep working together for a fairer, greener borough.

There's also a community bike ride beforehand which will end at the Play Street. It's going through all the local parks and is super easy for little ones. Register here: lcc.org.uk/events/sun-23-jun…

This morning we held a community cycle around Stroud Green, London, N4. Despite the damp day it was a joy to see children developing their confidence in cycling on the road. We set off from Finsbury Park. Our marshals did a great job in keeping us safe. 🚲 🌎🧵1/5

“I was embarrassed to think that we’d ever encouraged people to cycle this journey” 💔💔💔 Make no bones about it, a lot of Haringey is still dreadful for cycling. I’ve had near misses on all of these roads mentioned. We need change. And we need it now.
1/3 I cycled with family from Finsbury Park to Ally Pally tonight. The fireworks show was spectacular. The cycle was not just depressingly bad, it was VERY scary. I was embarrassed to think that we’d ever encouraged people to cycle this journey…

Car bores on here often wang on as if I have somehow unfairly impugned the humble SUV driver, & what business is it of mine what car they drive anyway etc. Our new report, Tractor Attack, may help to explain why I talk about this so much, and also: What Is To Be Done About It 1/

Today I can share I'm challenging the PM on the legality of abandoning key Net Zero commitments I believe the timeline for the UK to meet Net Zero cannot be changed at will by the PM – I contend that he does not have the legal right The ball is in your court , Prime Minister

Cycling in towns with kids is a high anxiety activity in the UK. As well as the crash helmet wearing which emphasises the danger of cycling, the constant having to be watchful of the child, the cries to keep close, slow down, keep up etc just add to anxiety. We need #safestreets

Do we want our children to breathe in fewer harmful pollutants all day, everyday? Ask your council for a School Street ... and tell your MP about it too!

Imagine becoming PM of one of the most powerful nations in the world and this is your major policy?! Embarrassing!
We are a nation of drivers. Most of us use a car every day and, for many, life would be difficult without their car. But too often, drivers feel under attack. That changes today with a long-term plan to improve drivers' experience on the road. Here’s how 👇🧵

More cars, faster cars, cars everywhere. This is a great result for anti-LTN, anti-ULEZ, anti safer streets campaigners, anyone who campaigns against restrictions on car use. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6…
