As @BretWeinstein discusses here, universities are attracted to foreign grad students on visas who are desperate for immigration benefits; so profs can make them teach & do their research work for LOW pay because they’re “students”, & exploit them further once they’re post-docs.

He took a submarine into a shallow enemy harbor packed with 30 ships, blew them apart, then ran for an hour across a minefield on the surface to escape. And in five war patrols he never lost a single man. This is Lucky Fluckey and the USS Barb. Eugene Fluckey earned his Medal of Honor for a night in January 1945 that reads like fiction. He had tracked a huge concentration of Japanese ships, more than 30 of them, into Namkwan Harbor along the China coast. The catch was that the harbor was shallow, uncharted, sprinkled with mines and rocks, water so thin his submarine was practically scraping the bottom. Any sensible commander would have stayed away. Fluckey took the Barb in anyway, creeping into water only about 30 feet deep, right into the middle of the anchored fleet. He fired everything, scored hit after hit on six different targets, and blew up a massive ammunition ship in a stupendous explosion. Then came the escape, an hour long run at full speed on the surface, in the dark, through the mines and rocks and shoals, gambling everything on getting out before the enemy could react. He made it clean. And that was just one night in a career of audacity. Fluckey pioneered new tactics, made the Barb the first American submarine to fire rockets in combat, and in one of the most famous stunts of the war he put a landing party of eight men ashore on Japanese home soil to plant explosives on a railway and blow up a passing train, the only ground combat action on the Japanese homeland in the entire war. He won the Medal of Honor and four Navy Crosses, one of the most decorated men in the submarine force, and through all of it, all that reckless brilliance, he brought every one of his men home alive. They did not call him Lucky Fluckey for nothing.

No, a CSUDH graduate's MS in Computer Science would not be considered an "elite" education. The school is ranked #36 among Regional Universities West (US News 2026) and doesn't appear in national CS graduate rankings, which focus on research-intensive programs. No public data exists on average GRE scores for the program. GRE submission is now optional (minimum 293 combined if provided).

If you haven’t heard, and even if you have, Jimmy Kimmel said this about Markwayne Mullin, former Senator from Oklahoma, and our newest Secretary of Homeland Security: “We have a plumber now protecting us from terrorism.” Apparently, there has been some backlash. Plumbers were offended, obviously, as were parents of plumbers, spouses of plumbers, children of plumbers, and millions of people who have had a plumber show up when they needed one. Comedians were also offended, (the funny ones, anyway,) along with a surprising number of terrorists - especially those with access to hot and cold running water. However, in spite of the ensuing kerfuffle, @jimmykimmel doubled down. “I’m not upset that the head of Homeland Security was a plumber,” he said, “I’m upset that he isn’t still a plumber." He further elucidated by adding, "I wouldn't put a plumber in charge of Homeland Security for the same reason I wouldn't call a five-star general to pull a rat out of my toilet, OK? We all have our areas of expertise.” Being offended is always a choice, and I don’t choose to be offended by a joke, even one that comes at the expense of the skilled tradespeople my foundation tries to elevate. But I am a tad butt hurt by the suggestion that skilled workers should never evolve into something new, and that competence is somehow limited to one vocation. Obviously, expertise and skill are important. If I need a new kidney, I’d prefer a doctor do the surgery, not a late-night talk show host. But if the doctor in question used to host a talk show, why would I hold that against him? Ten years ago, during one of the presidential debates, @MarcoRubio answered a workforce-related question by arguing that America needed to get shop class back into high schools. He concluded by saying, “What our country needs are more welders and fewer philosophers.” A lot of people on this page commented that Rubio and I were singing from the same hymnal, but in fact, we weren’t. At least not entirely. Because I don’t think the current shortage of welders has anything to do with an overabundance of philosophers. In fact, I think it’s a mistake to promote one vocation at the expense of the other. What we really need in this country, are more welders who can talk intelligently about Aristotle, and more philosophers who can run an even bead. More Generals, in other words, who can fix their own toilets, and more plumbers who can hold a powerful government job. This is what Mullin did. He was a private citizen who mastered an essential skill and then turned that skill into a multi-million-dollar company that employed a lot of people and served a lot of customers. That gave him the freedom to do other things with his life, including a career in public service which got him into Congress, where he’s spent the last eleven years doing whatever Congressmen do. Now, he has a very consequential position in the Cabinet of the current administration. Is that not the embodiment of the American Dream? I get that Jimmy Kimmel might have a problem with Mullin’s politics, but what possible objection could he have about the trajectory of his career, or his desire to do more than one thing with his life? The only sensible thing to do in the wake of a moment this tone deaf, is remind America that the skills gap is wide, and getting wider. The shortage of skilled tradespeople is now headline news and closing it is nothing less than a matter of national security. This year, my foundation has set aside $10 million dollars to help train the next generation of plumbers, and lots of other essential workers. I'm talking about hundreds of thousands of AI-proof, six figure jobs that don't require a four-year degree, waiting to be filled. The money is currently available to anyone who wants to master a useful skill at mikeroweworks.org/. Apply today. As for those of you genuinely offended by Kimmel's comments, consider expressing your disappointment with a modest donation to mikeroweWORKS. Our work ethic scholarship is making a real difference, and your money will be well spent, I promise. The donate button is big and red and hard to miss, at mikeroweworks.org/ I’d love to chat but I’ve gotta pull a rat out of my toilet…

Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking  ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism. An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.  He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.  The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.   This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement. These men and women who are simply enforcing the law on the books are facing 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats.  This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available.

By its actions, America hates its own scientists. The U.S. hates its own scientific elite, and has since the Apollo missions. Their careers have been destroyed. Truly. Why does Trump show zero concern for all the amazing Scientific talent that we have? Just let these colleges and universities that cannot survive without Chinese life support fail. Simple as that. Let’s stop offering complimentary spa days to the CCP and peeling their grapes, and show 1/1000th the concern we show to China to our own scientists. Why are we destroying ourselves to help the Chinese communist Party?? Anyone? This is beyond belief.

EXCLUSIVE: This morning my team received an e-mail from officer at ATF. The email included a screen shot from what appears to be an internal message describing a weapon and cartridges located by an ATF and other law enforcement near the scene of the Charlie Kirk shooting at Utah Valley State University. "On September 10, 2025, at approximately 12:24PM, Conservative political influencer Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at the Utah Valley University in Orem, UT. Mr. Kirk was speaking at the University as part of the American Comeback Tour. Multiple SLC I and III agents responded immediately. The suspect fired one shot from an elevated position on a rooftop in an adjacent building on the campus and surveillance video shows the suspect, jumping off and fleeing the area on foot. ATF and other law-enforcement located an older model imported Mauser .30-06 caliber bolt action rifle wrapped in a towel in a wooded area near the campus. The location of the firearm appears to match the suspects route of travel. The spent cartridge was still chambered in addition to three unspent rounds at the top fed magazine. All cartridges have engraved wording on them, expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology. An emergency trace has been submitted an ATF SLC is working leads generated by the trace. The firearm and ammunition have been taken by the FBI for DNA analysis and fingerprint impressions. Upon completion of forensics, the firearm will be disassembled for additional importer information. Multiple people of interest having contacted or detained because of eyewitness testimony and review of video footage. The primary suspect is yet to be identified. ATF is assisting the investigation with multiple other federal, state, and local partners and the case is co-led by the FBI and Utah SBI.""

The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi. We will provide updates when able.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Director Patel has since published an update from his official @FBIDirectorKash handle that "the subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement" and that the FBI's investigation continues, meaning Mr. Kirk's killer remains at large. x.com/FBIDirectorKas…
