The German Bureau of Air Accident Investigation has released its preliminary report on the Vietnam B787 incident at Munich that saw the aircraft leave the runway on the takeoff roll and strike lighting stanchions in the clearway.
The report suggests the PF Was riding the brakes on takeoff with brake input virtually from takeoff through to liftoff.
It also appears the the slat “Autogap” feature probably saved the aircraft as it reached an AOA of 14deg at 15’ radio altitude.
