In all honesty if you’re not wealthy or trying to scam your way into being wealthy, being anything to the right of centrism kind of just means you’re a moron.
How are any young men left wing I genuinely don’t understand

Republicans have embraced a delusional alternate reality to justify their idelogical project. Democrats have done it to protect the feelings of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer. An absolute embarrassment of a 'political party.'

Asmongold is a positive force for World of Warcraft! For every weird freak he brings in, he'll alienate five normal people. And his cavity-ridden fans will inevitably freak out and demand a boycott over something no functioning person would ever care about!
As controversial as Asmongold is, he is a positive force for World of Warcraft right now. He is introducing more players to WoW, he is driving silly community events, and people are having fun (the most important bit.) If you are butt hurt and crying about how people enjoy a MMORPG, go play a different game. WoW players love chaos, NOT preachers trying to ruin everyone fun by calling for the company to limit free speech. This is a Beta, people need to chill!

Three things that just might be related: * the rise of identitarian deference politics * cultural expansion of the concept of "disability" * the fact that disability is the only plausible basis for political deference that can be invoked by professional class white people

We don't interrogate enough the fact that so much of American exceptionalism relies on explaining away each of our atrocities as an oopsie.
It's technically true that the US has killed more civilians than al-Qaeda as @hasanthehun says but that's because the US is a superpower of 350 million people and al-Qaeda is a relatively small terror group. It's comparing apples and oranges. Also, key difference: US policymakers for all their faults do not deliberately try to kill Muslim civilians. Al-Qaeda does.

Kinda hilarious that the U.S. economy never recovered from 2008, but they’ve tried to hide it by letting 10 guys become multi-billionaires to even out the data

The funniest thing about "Bush did 9/11" people is that they were, and still are, committed Republicans. The most propagandized and politically ignorant people on the planet.

Wow it certainly seems like Dems failing to fix the USPS board of governors was yet another unforced error!
🚨BREAKING: A whistleblower claims in a new report that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has embarked on a “secretive, rushed” effort to implement President Donald Trump’s mail voting order ahead of the midterms, even though the order is currently blocked. democracydocket.com/news-ale…

Centrists would rather destroy the concept of government than deal with the Republican party.
Whenever you ask what the plan is for Medicare for All run by someone like RFK Jr. (and the current GOP), there is just no answer. They just scream at you and call you names. Because they don't have any answer. It's one of the main reasons why a Single Payer is not workable in our country. But like pretty much every issue, they have no interest in dealing with the actual reality as it exists.

I mean it’s a scam. It’s a scam to help AI companies and NVIDIA keep afloat lest they go under and take the world economy with them. It’s a scam to get more contracts to construction firms now that the warehouse building boom has faded. It’s just so clearly…scammy
Does anyone have literally ANY reasonable arguments against the data center build out? Like who’s the top “ban data centers” intellectual with the best arguments? From what I’ve seen it all just seems to a big ball of populist rage. Happy to be proven wrong.

Not sure how the left can share any sort of coalition or political alliance with this Russian nesting doll of centrist delusions.
If this is true, and I think it probably is, then that raises significant questions about the extent to which mass democracy and industrial capitalism are even reconcilable to one another.

This is very obviously true and what it hints out but doesn’t explicitly state is that the very premise shifts the moral burden away from those with power to those without it, from the oppressor to the oppressed. No one forced Biden/Harris to take their genocidal position.
Ta-Nehisi Coates rejects blaming voters who wouldn’t back Kamala Harris over Gaza for her loss to Trump in 2024, saying many were asked to vote for a Democratic administration enabling a genocide against their own families. “That’s you. That’s not me. And that’s not who I want to be,” he said. He drew a historical parallel: Black Americans didn’t accept being sacrificed for Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal, whose Social Security and housing programs were written to exclude most Black workers in order to win Southern votes, and Frederick Douglass pressured and publicly criticized Abraham Lincoln through much of the Civil War, warming to him only late. The author of The Case for Reparations added, “If we get access to any sort of power, we can’t do what was done to us.”

All the techbros, neolibs and centrists trying to make this a "moral panic" discourse is another demonstration that the ruling class in this country just doesn't have the juice anymore. It's a material disagreement, calling everyone stupid is one of the reasons nobody wants them.
Polling on data centers is really, really brutal. In WI, 76% of voters said "the costs outweigh the benefits," including 67% of Republicans. Gallup found 71% of Americans oppose one being built near them, incl. 80% of 18–34yos. Heatmap found 55% would support a *national ban.*

what was that quote about how nobody knew the roman empire collapsed they just noticed roads and bridges stopped being fixed
It is now projected that the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore won't be rebuilt until 2030. Iran has already rebuilt every bridge we bombed.

a business whose owners have a preference in a primary are mad at being tricked into making it look like they endorsed the opponent. this is crazy apparently
How crazy are things in Michigan? This cider bar, which is *next door* to the Kent County Democratic Party, is now apologizing and “heartbroken” for hosting a Dem women’s event w/two Democratic Congresswomen.

It's amazing that lib zionists think supporting the GOP on behalf of a despised foreign government that interfered for Trump in 2024 is the path to regaining power in the Dem party. Totally disconnected from reality.
Actually the best way for the toxicity to stop is for El-Sayed to win the primary and then lose the general to a Republican. If Stevens wins, the nut cases will continue on their anti-democratic path. Attacking Democrats--especially female Democrats--gives them narcissistic supply. If El-Sayed wins then loses to Rodgers, they'll fizzle out or direct their energies to other Democrats. They'll never focus on Republicans because Republicans don't satisfy their psychological needs. In this scenario, the non-nuts who have fallen for the "democratic socialism" schtick (Thanks, Bernie) will make more rational choices next time, i.e. vote for a Normie Dem. No, I do not want this outcome. I'm describing the logical path towards any of the toxicity resolving. The outcome I want is for Haley Stevens to win and to then beat Rodgers. In this outcome, the toxicity continues and probably amplifies. Normie Dems are in a rock/hard place when it comes to all of this.

Hard not to view the "they're shipping people in from other states" shit and these types of posts as anything other than sowing a stolen election narrative when Abdul inevitably wins.
I'd been hearing from folks in Michigan that there's real Stevens momentum on the ground. Then I see this clip. The enthusiasm is real. Vote @HaleyforMI to keep Michigan blue.

One of the interesting differences between the Dem establishment and the insurgent wing of the party is the establishment doesn't seem to realize that this is a dead website.
The GOP is running ads to prop up my opponent. And not only that - Mike Rogers said it the other day: If Abdul wins, Mike would be in ‘good shape’ to beat him. Folks, I’m the strongest candidate in this race. The GOP is afraid to face me because they know I’m going to win.
