I agree 100% with Bronwen. Check out her article. And here's a link to my stuff on 1 Timothy 2:15 and the "saved through childbearing" phrase. margmowczko.com/tag/1-timoth…

When male pastors call on us to recover something called “biblical manhood” I suspect they're not thinking of the silent, loyal Joseph submitting himself humbly to his wife’s God-given calling. [Image by Matt Chinworth]

I heard someday recently that, being a woman in a complemantarian church is learning that the cross didn't mean as much for women as it did for men. This is the problem.

The Bible explicitly endorses women preaching in church. In the NT, prophecy is preaching inspired by the Holy Spirit. The NT affirms female prophets (Acts 2:17, 21:8-9) and gives instructions for both women and men prophesying publicly in church (1 Cor 11).

🧵 1. Some suggest that because Priscilla didn’t teach in a church meeting in Acts 18, her correction of Apollos’s teaching doesn’t serve as a precedent for women teaching in church services today.

Ooh…just received a review copy of @JulieZColeman’s new book, “On Purpose: Understanding God’s Freedom for Women Through Scripture.” I’ve heard all good things about this book so far…looking forward to diving in!

"Nothing was said of the subjection of woman before the fall. … Christ came to repair the ruin wrought by the fall. In Him, and in Him only, is Paradise restored. The Gospel belongs to woman as much as to man" B.T. Roberts, Ordaining Women, chapter 5, (1891)

"Either I had to change my view of everything in the Bible about women, from the OT to the NT, in order to preserve my interpretation of 1 Timothy 2, or I had to change to my interpretation of 1 Timothy 2 to fit with what was happening pretty much everywhere else in the Bible."

Got to deliver my lecture on the Bible’s message of gender equality tonight. Not every student has an epiphany, but, without fail, each time I present I get to watch light bulbs go on as the Spirit uses the Scriptures to set women free. It’s always a holy moment. #lovemyjob

Thank you to the men who stand up for women in ministry. Thank you for defending us in conversation. Thank you for making places for us at the table. Thank you for continuing on, even when it's easier not to. Thank you for hearing us, and for your willingness to grow.

Didn’t mean to retweet the first Al Mohler tweet below - the one I didn’t put a comment on - but can’t work out how to delete it on my phone.
Margaret Fell Fox wrote about “women’s speaking justified, proved and allowed of by the Scriptures”” in 1666. Women’s calling to preach is NOT a new belief of doctrine. crivoice.org/WT-mfox.html
This is John A. Broadus warning against the practice of women preaching in church worship. This is NOT a new belief or doctrine. Broadus wrote this in 1880.

Here is Broadus getting right to the point — if Southern Baptists surrender our doctrine and beliefs, there is no reason to be Baptist.

An extraordinarily accurate picture of today, written over 30 years ago.
This, from a book I am reading that was published in 1989.
