Yes and amen.
After Trump today went after Adam Hamilton’s stewardship of his church and Vance previously questioned his faith, the Kansas Dem candidate called it ‘sad and pathetic.’ "I follow Jesus. I guess I would ask the question, ‘Do the policies of Vice President Vance and Donald Trump, do they reflect the Jesus of the Gospels?’ And the answer is no. I don't know what gospels they're reading, but it's not the Jesus of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John."

My favorite Senate Intern helped create this!
While Pete does PT, the quagmire in Iran grows worse and Americans can’t afford to pay the bill.

Hey Missouri, you can do so much better than this!
A phenomenal moment in the Senate. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta. Smith denies it. Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury. Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland. Watch the whole thing:

“It’s difficult to imagine a more blatant violation of the First Amendment than Trump banning news outlets from the People’s House for criticizing the government. It’s also hard to imagine a dumber move. The historically unpopular president has been retaliating against the press for years, but it hasn’t helped him. The press keeps exposing his corruption and his failures. These outrageous attacks only demonstrate how scared he is of an informed public." –Seth Stern, chief of advocacy at the Freedom of the Press Foundation

Just a yawning, insatiable need for affirmation...
Trump: We're privileged to have with us 15 of the 16 living recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor. I want for myself a Congressional Medal of Honor, and I've studied it and I will give it to myself, I have no problem, but I'm not allowed to. Can you believe it? The one thing I'm not allowed to do, I would give it to myself, so it would make it instead of 15, we'd have 16. I’m only kidding. Actually, I’m not kidding.

Is there any valor left, or did he steal it all?!?
On Trump’s latest 9/11 story: - He was miles away from the World Trade Center on 9/11, at Trump Tower - There’s no evidence he was whisked out of any building; in 2016 he claimed he was “not so far” from a building thought to be unstable, didn't hint he was inside - There’s no public evidence he organized a Ground Zero rescue crew, let alone the 100-strong crew he has previously claimed - Rescue workers repeatedly did run away from the building he was referring to, One Liberty Plaza, over collapse fears that proved unfounded. Trump discussed these rushes in one Sept. 13, 2001 interview but didn’t say he was personally swept up in one, though it’s theoretically possible - One Liberty Plaza does not “still creak.” It was closed for less than two months and has been functioning for nearly 25 years now cnn.com/2026/09/08/politics/…

Finally, a name change I can get behind. Let him own this ignominious war of choice in perpetuity!
Trump: "Now that we have it under U.S.A. control, should we change the name Hormuz Strait to TRUMP STRAIT??? Like America itself, it would be 'hotter' than ever before! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

This month I'm thinking about how to frame our theological conversations around women in ministry leadership. Practically, how should we be thinking about that? rdixondis.substack.com/p/eng…

I hope his passing brings some measure of solace for those he terrorized.
Breaking News: Ratko Mladic, the Bosnian Serb general during the Balkan wars of the 1990s who was convicted in the killing of 8,000 Muslims at Srebrenica, Europe’s deadliest massacre since World War II, has died. He was 83. nyti.ms/3T013o6

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”. The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms. Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

I have been and will continue to be loyal to @united, but our experience today puts that to the test. Transatlantic flight was delayed and had 2 broken lavs. Now delayed on our next flight due to catering. #frustratedflyer

The use of the adjective “men’s” — U.S. men’s national team, even men’s World Cup — on the broadcast and in print is such a fitting sign of respect for the success and importance of the USWNT and the women’s game in general.
