We recently had the opportunity to dive with Caribbean reef sharks (Carcharhinus perezii) during our time in Roatan, Honduras, for @VitaliaCity in @ProsperaZEDE.
We believe it is essential to create new local decentralized micro-economies with stakeholders who have been involved in non-extractive practices related to these organisms for over 20 years.
Implementing DeSci with a citizen science approach and web3 incentives could enhance local community involvement in conserving these majestic species for future generations.
Thanks to @ScubaShopRoatan and Waihuka Shark Dive (IG: @RoatanSharkDive) for the experience.
