Not sure I can relate to why so many are worried that more remote work means being less “friends with your team” and “lost social time”. We don’t work together to become friends, it’s great when it happens and I’ve had no trouble having good relationships with remote folks

Nothing drives me crazy more on @Windows then when Windows Hello fails for some good reason and I want it to just try again, but to do this I have to click the other sign-in options button first.

I'm 47 today. I've been coding since I was 8, professionally since I was 16. You'd think I'd know better than to use strings for complex data. And yet...

I have 18k followers, most of whom want to learn to code, yet when I ask,
“What’s your current personal project”
I get very few responses.
You. Must. Build. An. Actual. Project.

As a consultant, I'm seeing an epidemic: Companies are wasting millions by giving developers slow laptops.
Today I said "npm install x".
My laptop: 10 seconds. 😀
Their laptop: 3+ minutes. 🤯🤦♂️
Why? Weak processors, little RAM, platter drives, and slow security scanners.

My husband just went to the grocery store to buy apples. Me, I’m waiting at home on the couch, so I can say “how do ya like them apples?” when he walks in the door.

One of my best meetings today was getting in a room with two other PMs from a partner team and just asking two questions around the table.
1. What worries you.
2. How are you feeling overall about the project.
Highly recommend this type of checkin!
Happy Friday folks. 🥳

Getting coffee at my local coffee shop before heading into the office this morning the barista asked me if I was doing anything fun today, I said "working, getting ready for a presentation". She felt sorry for me, I told her not to as I actually love my job. I am lucky & know it!

It’s a real shame more of us don’t have time for one another in the crazy of adult life. For the record this is not a criticisms, heck I’m one of the worst examples.
But we should all try harder, the good people around us is our greatest strength. We’re all stronger together 🚀

Last night we shipped the final issue of MSDN Magazine to the printer. That's 33 years of serving the Microsoft developer community, drawing to a close. I feel like I'm watching a Viking funeral boat drift away from shore.
