To contract a civil marriage in Uganda, intending couples must meet the legal eligibility criteria and submit the required documents, including proof of citizenship or valid identification, LC1 letter confirming residence for at least 15 days in the district where the marriage will take place, one passport-sized photograph per applicant, among other requirements. #OpenGovUg

On Procedure for Civil Marriages, applicants must; ✅ Create an account at marriages.nira.go.ug to fill in and submit the signed Notice of Marriage (Form A) ✅ Set the wedding date on the wedding calendar via their account ✅ Appear before the Registrar with two witnesses for the marriage ceremony ✅ If objections are raised (known as a caveat), the matter is referred to court. #OpenGovUg

Yesterday, President @KagutaMuseveni, Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, commissioned 280 officer cadets at Uganda Military Academy–Kabamba in Mubende District, urging them to remain disciplined, focused and committed to their military careers. The ceremony covered Officer Cadets Intake 09/26 and Bachelor of Defence Studies Intake 05/23/29. Defence Minister Hon. @KiryowaKk highlighted the importance of the President’s strategic guidance in strengthening military professionalism, discipline and national defence.
