What we witnessed today was extraordinary. A massive convoy of emergency vehicles traveled west on I 10 just east of Tallahassee, heading directly toward communities devastated by Hurricane Isaias. The storm struck near Destin as a Category 2 hurricane with winds of 105 mph, leaving widespread destruction and hundreds of thousands without power across the Florida Panhandle and surrounding states. This was more than a line of flashing lights. It was help on the way. It was courage, compassion, service, and hope moving toward people who need it most. To every first responder, National Guard member, utility worker, law enforcement officer, firefighter, paramedic, volunteer, and emergency worker answering the call, thank you. While others move away from danger, you move toward it. Please keep the Panhandle, every affected family, and every responder in your prayers.
