Today we have announced that we will supporting the @NSPCC, the UK's leading children's charity, in 2024 with £6 million of advertising support. We are delighted to lend a helping hand to support the incredible work they do right across the country.
Newsquest has signed a partnership with the NSPCC for 2024. The publisher is giving the children's charity print and online advertising to the value of at least £6m, plus editorial, making it "the largest ever initiative Newsquest has run in support of a single charity".

I don't really fancy a world where the only source of local news comes from the BBC, alongside the occasional plucky hyperlocal, but that's where we will finish up if its aggressive expansion is allowed to continue unchecked.

Diverting money to compete in a market well-served by commercial publishers will simply, in the long term, reduce choice. How can the rest of us experiment with monetisation models when a cash-rich BBC can simply follow up our stories and provide them on a free-to-access site?

New on HTFP today: @Ofcom has delayed a decision on whether the BBC’s planned investment in local news services will “harm fair and effective competition” as it considers views from competitors, following criticism from @newsmediaorg and @FaureWalker. holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2022/…

.@Ofcom must “awake from its slumber” and intervene to prevent the #BBC crowding out commercial providers with plans to ramp up its own digital local news services, Newsquest chief executive @FaureWalker said @katierazz newsmediauk.org/blog/2022/11…

OFCOM asleep on the watch as BBC expansion undermines local news brands. Is this really what the licence fee is for??? Local news brands now read by over 75% of local people. Work with us not against. @DCMS @Ofcom @newsmediaorg holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2022/…
