Deep conversations on what it takes to deepen South South cooperation!
Institutional capacity is at the heart of effective South-South & Triangular Cooperation. At the Inaugural Convention on South-South & Triangular Cooperation, an exceptional panel featuring Rwanda Cooperation CEO @RNiwenshuti1 , Jitendra Sinha, Chief Technical Advisor of @LuxDev_HQ ,@FatmataLSesay Rwanda Resident Coordinator a.i. and Resident Representative @UNDP_Rwanda Moderated by @M_Philani Executive Director for @IGD_SAev , is exploring a critical question: How can countries of the Global South build the institutional foundations needed to sustain, scale & strengthen South-South & Triangular Cooperation while reducing external dependency? The discussion underscores the importance of political commitment, knowledge exchange, and strong institutions in advancing impactful and sustainable development partnerships. #SouthSouthCooperation #Cooperation4Impact

The Global South is already sharing what works, the harder task is building the institutions & financing to match. From the Minister’s opening to youth founders closing the day, the Inaugural Convention made the case that cooperation has to outlast the conversation. #SSTrC2026

Honored to speak at #MenopauseCafe by @umubyeyi_rw. Menopause is a public health & workplace issue, & a matter of dignity. @UNDP_Rwanda, we believe that development is limited without health equity, which is why representation means showing up for well-being, not just policy.
Meet Madame Dr Fatmata, Resident Representative @undpinrwanda , A Guest of Honor, who brought wisdom, courage, and truth to the room. She asked a question many women carry silently: “Does menopause last forever? Will I ever get my old self back?” Her voice carried the weight of lived experience ,the frustration, the silence, the longing for answers. With honesty and grace, she reminded us: “Menopause is not a private matter. It is a societal issue. A public health priority ,from CVS to mental health.” She applauded her UN colleagues for joining this vital conversation and honored Umubyeyi Elevate for bringing it to light. Her call to action was clear: “Let’s advocate for national menopause policies. Women deserve to age in dignity and health.” We are deeply grateful. #TuganireMenopoze #LetsTalkMenopoze #ReimaginingMenopause #Menospark #WomensHealth #MenopauseAwareness #PublicHealth #BreakingTheSilence

What is RS 560:2023? It’s Rwanda’s national standard for gender equality—the first in Africa. It supports institutions to embed equality in their policies, practices, and culture, making inclusion both a guiding principle and an accountable framework. #RS560 #GenderEquality

Today, I join the people of Rwanda in remembering the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. I honour the memory of the victims, the resilience of survivors, and the unity of a nation that chose healing over hate. May #NeverAgain be our shared commitment. #Kwibuka31
