They all retain the alias mStayGold, and so will all still show up when one searches for "mStayGold"

took a look, there are 90 2P spectra currently available in the database. So, this is a user interface problem rather than a data storage problem 😬 ... (GM units are also stored in the database, but easily accessible) my apologies!
Databases are hard... and no amount of automated error checking can catch every mistake that humans make (in the literature or in submissions). FPbase gratefully accepts help/corrections from anyone!
Here's an example of what not to do if you find something needing correction 😂
FPbase has been on Twitter for 1 year! And just last week we hit 2,000 registered users! Thanks for all your contributions and great suggestions 🎉 keep ‘em coming
Annoyed with the similar colors of neighboring spectra on the FPbase viewer? Be annoyed no more! New color palettes added in the settings menu (cycle with the C key)
Thanks @JonasRies for the suggestion, and @joachimgoedhart for some colorblind friendly palette inspiration.
We want the FPbase spectra viewer to be your one-stop spectra shop :)
currently 250+ proteins, 540+ dyes, 2760+ filters
and now with a quick lookup for all common *filter sets* from Chroma, Semrock, Omega, and (newly added) Zeiss. just hit spacebar...

yeah that's what's so interesting! in most cases, it seems like there's some explanation other than codon usage (as @hsalis already said above). kinda fascinating for such a ubiquitous practice. I was also struck by fig 2 in this 2009 paper with GFP: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…
Even the best fluorophores are only useful if they actually match the filters on your system.
Introducing efficiency reports at FPbase: evaluate ex/em efficiency for every fluorophore in the database, with each config on your scope.

glad you find it useful!
If you frequently make FRET calculations, don't miss the fret page at fpbase:
