My friend Vlad Starodubtsev, a Ukrainian veteran and historian, was beaten up in Lviv today by a group of far-right thugs for trying to give a history lecture. According to Social Movement, a Ukrainian democratic socialist organization, about 20 of them attacked him in broad daylight, just before the talk was supposed to start at the group's office near Lviv University. The lecture was on the history of the labor and socialist movement in Galicia. This is an attack on the freedom of speech that journalists, academics and activists depend on. It's vital that attention be drawn to this issue so that authorities take appropriate action. If you are journalist reading this, please consider covering it, and following up with authorities. The primary task of those opposing the Russian government is to do everything possible to help Ukraine, including militarily. This is the largest war in Europe since World War II, and it is being waged in our names. And you will not fucking escape this shame, no matter how much you want to bury your head in the sand and deny it. And if we’re talking about the interests of the Russian people, Russia’s military defeat is a necessary condition for a change of power in Russia. It is the Russian people’s only hope for a peaceful, democratic country - if that’s what they want.

Murdered Ukrainian children, abducted and tortured civilians that Trump spits on by making 'deals' with Russia. Russia can, it seems, kill any number of civilians, persecute Ukrainians for remaining true to their country, torture some to death and the US President will demand that Ukrainians choose another, more 'cooperative', President. khpg.org/en/1608816125

❗️Last night, the operation of Starlink terminals in Ukraine was restricted. Connectivity began to drop when moving at speeds exceeding 160 km/h. As a result, a number of critical missions were disrupted. SpaceX likely took these measures at the request of the Trump administration. Also last night, when Kyiv was attacked by ballistic missiles, Ukraine did not receive intelligence regarding their launch— a failure that could have led to higher casualties. Ukraine did not attack Russian oil refineries, yet Trump has already begun imposing sanctions on my country. Meanwhile, sanctions against Russia have been eased.

The traitorous American regime is going back to threatening to overthrow the Ukrainian government for one more subordinate to itself and Russia. Anyone who has ever entertained pathetic notions of “winning over MAGA” or whatever shares responsibility for this.

In the last election, Ukraine was a constant scapegoat. Blamed for absolutely everything. And now here we see Ukraine being blamed again. Trump’s embrace of Russia will do nothing to change quality of life in the US. But it does reveal exactly who Trump is and his supporters are
