Nastia spent months under Russian occupation in her hometown of Kherson, where Russia’s security services threatened to sew her mouth shut for singing Ukrainian songs. She was found and rescued by Save Ukraine, a Ukrainian organization that has brought home more than 1,700 children from Russian occupation.
CBS News’ @aidan_stretch spoke to her and her art therapist in Kyiv, which has come under increased Russian attacks.

I was on CNN with @BenInLDN to discuss what came of Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff’s visits to Kyiv and Moscow.
In short, this all could’ve been an email. But, hey at least we had a weekend in Kyiv with no Russian attacks.
We’re under a ballistic missile attack here in Kyiv. Very loud. At least we were spared of attacks during Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff’s useless visit. 🤷🏿♀️

My mother, Mary Starr, has died. The cause of death is hypertension.
I’m sorry for not being active on here the past week. But I have to deal with her affairs—from Ukraine. It’s a lot, but I’ll deal with it.
She suffered a lot in her life and I am honestly happy she is no longer in pain.
Life dealt her a bad hand, one so bad that I’ve had to learn to write off the hurt she caused me to make space for the pain she carried in life. I forgave her decades ago.
