Wonderful work by @Michohl1980 and @EmmaJBanks probing how the bacterial Tad pilus system motor powers both pilus assembly and retraction. Thank you to the @Tung_BK_Le lab for the fantastic collaboration.. 👏

Thank you very much to @DoerrLab for writing a lovely commentary on our recent Bdellovibrio paper! 🦠🔬journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128… Original paper here: journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128…
Really happy to share my second PhD paper and first as a co-corresponding author! We found that Bdellovibrio secretes a lytic transglycosylase into its prey in order to cleave the PG septum of dividing prey bacteria. Thank you to everyone involved! 🥳

Really happy to share our work on Contractile injection systems in Streptomyces! It's been a huge part of my time with @SusanSchlimpert and what an absolute pleasure it is to be able to work with the great, driving force that is @casub1 and @PilhoferLab
Another Contractile Injection System? 💉🙄 BUT THIS is a special one 👈😱 Spearheaded by our postdoc @casub1 in a fantastic collab with @JWSallmenII & @SusanSchlimpert, they could demonstrate a cytoplasmic role (☠️) of CIS in #Streptomyces out now in @NatureMicrobiol 🧵1/2
