As an educator, I often struggle with “differentiate for every child” but “have the same expectations for all” but “adjust your expectations to the child” and “accept that motivators differ” but “it’s your job to motivate every child” and “set boundaries” but “do what it takes.”

We teach children and youth...not programs. We use tools and strategies to scaffold and support, but can only select the right ones when we know who they are and what they can do today.
THRILLED to announce that I have accepted a permanent assignment at @RoyalRoadsPS teaching grade 6/7 next year!!
Such a fun project! Ss created their own "dream summer camp" to share with the class. They had to include rules, activities, different meal ideas, cost, and location information. Lots of creativity here! #2EO @louisearbourfi

A sample of their ideas: a story about a rock climbing secret genie who saves her friend with a pool, a gay Cinderella who meets a friend at the ball (& then who fall in love with each other and have a daughter), & a secret ring that turns the wearer into an ogre. @louisearbourfi
