Labor gave $6 million of taxpayer money to a golf club in Albanese's electorate.
Helen Haines asked why.
Her electorate was one of 45 that weren't even invited to apply for the $560 million program. Labor seats took almost 3 quarters of it.
Labor's answer was a dirt sheet on her.
A dirt sheet doesn't argue the point. It tells everyone the person asking is a hypocrite and a hack, someone not worth listening to.
It gets slipped to journalists so nobody's name is on it and the question gets buried under the person.
Do that to enough people and politics stops being about policy, it becomes about who the enemy is.
In 2007 Albanese had even stood up in parliament and tore into the Howard government for running a secret dirt unit.
Now ASIO is warning about rising tensions, Helen Haines is in hospital after losing a leg and the PM all of a sudden wants everyone to cool down.

Sydney resi vacancy rates are rising across all key measures. Still low, but consistent with early evidence of softer rents growth in the city.

This Woollahra Councillor seems in disbelief that rents there are going up by 10% per year, but the data is clear.
We need our housing policy to be governed by people who work off facts, not anecdotes.

Good start but needs to escalate to more direct action imo. The first western government that commits to a china-style policy of deliberate housing price deflation will be beloved by their citizens. That country will also enjoy an economic renaissance as capital is reallocated.

Wealth = the ability to satisfy human wants and needs. Instead of wealth, tax land ownership since land price speculation produces ZERO goods or service and only keeps the cost of living as high as possible. Land tax makes land cheaper; taxing wealth reduces the quality of life.
