I bought myself an under-desk bicycle for my birthday and so far I'm loving it. For anyone who struggles with daytime sleepiness while working (common with ADHD), finding ways to get movement and keep my heart rate up during the day has been key to staying on track.

Understimulation burnout is a thing, people. Us ADHD'ers often need external ways to regulate stimulation. We NEED novelty, interest, and challenge. If we don't have it over the long-term, we burn out. Making big changes in our lives is often a way of getting that stimulation

That ADHD feeling of "If I don't say it right now, I'm going to forget it" can get us into major trouble when dealing with conflict. Paired with adrenaline firing on all cylinders, it can make it particularly difficult to not say things that should definitely be kept in our head

I do think that being a girl contributed to my autism and ADHD not being recognised. My meltdowns were viewed as me being dramatic, my emotional dysregulation as me being too sensitive and hormonal, and the themes of my special interests were socially acceptable for a girl.

People like this are the reason I continue to raise awareness of the stigma attached to ADHD… taking medication wasn’t an easy choice to make for me. I struggle to take paracetamol when I have a headache bc I’m worried about addiction etc..🫣

Job hunting and interviewing can be so stressful—the anxiety and social pressures of that experience is often compounded even more for those that are neurodivergent. What advice would you give someone with ADHD that is job hunting, interviewing, etc?

This is a broad question and I expect a broad range of answers but here goes anyway----- Do you consider ADHD part of your identity? Is it a positive? A negative?

Untreated ADHD can ruin lives. Especially in adults. And a LOT of adult ADHD goes untreated, because a LOT of people in our culture have been convinced it doesn't exist.

ADHD is a condition that impacts self-regulation, such as regulation of attention, impulse, movement, and (for many of us) emotion. This means that, for ADHD'ers, there can be a bigger disconnect between our intent and our actions

⚡️Flash Emotions⚡️ Many people with ADHD are blindsided by their own emotions. Impulsively acting on emotions without thinking them through. With ADHD, people have little time to reflect, think, or feel. EMOTIONS CAN CHANGE AT LIGHTNING SPEED!⚡️⚡️⚡️ ©️Mollys_ADHD_mayhem

I can talk about ADHD as it relates to life so many different ways but I especially love to talk about cooking and cleaning lately because those were things I was BAD AT my whole life. And I struggled and failed until I got it. And I DO.
