Same. Old. Story.
New style, same problems. Jake Connor's absence becomes more and more baffling.
England thoughts.

This is going to get ugly quickly if this deal collapses, by the way. The term 'civil war' has been put to me by more than one person close to this deal. Super League is completely in limbo: no sponsor, no schedule, no format, no start date, no clarity on teams. It's mid-October

The heartland clubs and fans need to remember one thing.
Rugby league was created to fight the rugby establishment who closed doors and denied people being paid.
Now they're doing exactly the same thing they fought against.

The World Cup should be the high point of the rugby league calendar.
But just 59 days before it starts, the World Cup’s profile is tiny.

Well there’s enough horrid stuff going on in the world so here’s Vic & Bob inviting Mark Lamarr to do the Mammalathon Challenge.

That is a very miserable end. Theme of the series really; England squared up in patches but the quality has been desperately lacking. You suspect there will have to be some sort of inquest into this. What a missed opportunity for the game in this country.

The Ashes has been a missed opportunity. But with no warm-ups or training camps all year, England needs to put the national team first going into the World Cup.
Problems with performance are clear. But the game doesn't want to give England a chance.

The way Australia and England have treated this Ashes is like night and day. The Australians have fully immersed themselves with meeting fans etc whilst England have locked themselves away. England have got a lot wrong over the last 3 weeks.
Great to see the next generation of players and fans meeting their heroes and engaging with the game.
That’s what this tour is about.
That’s why they moved it to England.

If NZ, Tonga and Samoa can compete with Australia in rugby league, with fewer players and much less money, then there's no reason why England can't.
Comes down to pathways, production lines, coaching and culture.
Get more RL in schools, make Super League a more intense competition.

Changes for England on Saturday. Shaun Wane says he's prepared to make as many as four to get a response after admitting he felt England's performance at Wembley 'didn't look like' the one he expects in a Test match.

Dear Super League folk meeting the NRL today
LISTEN TO THEM
Hear what they have to say and look at what they have to suggest
If they want to invest, look at how they can improve our league and improve our PR and media output
Don’t treat them like morons, work with them
