Replying to @SELECT2Trial
@SELECT2trial, both directly presenting and transferred patients benefited from EVT, including those with low ASPECTS at referral hospitals. Longer transfer times and ASPECTS loss were associated with worse clinical outcomes. @JAMANeuro @JAMA_current jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…

By soul, I mean a perspective rather than a substance.
A viewpoint toward things rather than a thing itself.
Between the doer and the deed, there is a reflective moment.
Soul-making means differentiating this middle ground.

I was greatly honored by the invitation to write a NEJM editorial, about practice-changing landmark trials, that demonstrated benefits of thrombectomy in large strokes, offering hope for patients with devastating large ischemic strokes.
We have to stop doing dumb meta-analyses (I have been guilty). Well done meta-analysis reduce bias, systemic error and delineate small but significant effects. Bad ones amplify errors and careers 🙅🏼♂️
Nice work Cam!
