Proud to stand with @TaxJusticeUK and a host of other climate & trade union activists yesterday to call for a worker-led transition.
We need a fair and fast energy transition that protects ALL workers - and higher taxes on big polluters to fund it.

BREAKING: We won our case against the UK gov's inadequate net zero strategy!
On the hottest day on record in the UK, the High Court has ruled that the government’s Net Zero Strategy breaches the Climate Change Act.
This is a landmark victory.

Writing for @euobs, our @DomEagleton asks "is fossil hydrogen on its death bed?"
As it relies on increasingly expensive and climate-wrecking gas to be produced, it should be a no brainer. But #FossilFuel industry lobbyists are trying to keep it alive.

the new un report on climate solutions does not identify industry lobbying as a problem in its summary for policymakers or technical summary but the full report documents it over and over again 1/

🧵 We @Global_Witness have been tracking where Russian fossil fuels are landing.
Oil Tank CB Carabic docked in at Purfleet, UK at 23.57 last night, carrying diesel (verified via @Refinitiv) from Primorsk, Russia.

The Dutch advertising watchdog rules finds Shell's 'green hydrogen' advertising is misleading. This, after its "drive carbon neutral' campaign was also found to be misleading..... sensing a theme here

People working on CO₂ removal (CDR), are we all on the same page that when you remove atmospheric CO₂, the ocean and land will outgas and equilibrate with the new atmosphere so that, for example, you’d have to remove 2 GtC from the atmosphere to achieve a reduction of 1 GtC?

When a major fossil fuel firm totally fails to read the room and boasts about its profits whilst millions see energy bills rise…and then deletes the tweet. But not before eagle eyed @Global_Witness colleagues can screenshot!

Shell's facility that captures CO2 actually emits more than it is capturing. It has the same yearly carbon footprint as 1,2 million gas-powered cars.
This is exactly what happens when people in power care more about their reputation and imagery than to actually reduce emissions.
🚨 NEW: The #FossilFuel industry wants us to think blue hydrogen 🔵 is climate friendly.
@Shell boast that their plant in Canada 🇨🇦 is helping to tackle the #ClimateCrisis.
We show it has the same emissions as a MILLION cars! 🚗globalwitness.org/hydrogen-e…

When we began investigating the #PalmOil industry in Papua New Guinea, we expected to unearth deforestation and human rights abuses - the industry is notorious.
But it’s not every day company execs admit to it live on camera.
