With our partners @Legambiente & the support of @Bluemarinef, we’re urging authorities to take steps to avoid the destruction of MPAs and protect their vitally important marine habitats and species. 1/5
We aim to:
👉 Highlight that authorities in charge of these MPAs are obliged to effectively protect them
👉 Ensure they complete mapping & adopt effective management measures to comply with EU nature laws
👉 Require them to do risk assessments & adopt protective measures 4/5

You shouldn’t need to own a house or have your own solar panels to benefit from clean, affordable energy. People living in apartment blocks, tenants, local businesses and public services should be able to benefit too 🧵
Yet in some countries, people have to fight through confusing rules to make this happen. Five years after the EU deadline, Poland and Hungary still make energy communities very difficult to set up. 3/4
That’s why we’ve filed complaints with the European Commission. Clean, affordable energy shouldn’t be only for those with the right home or income. The law already exists. Now it needs to work for people.
