I am not sure I have ever been more excited and happy for any news in my working life. This will be truly life changing and I am so proud of colleagues and friends who kept going until NICE SAID YES!!!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news!
The NHS will soon offer gene therapy to patients over 12 with transfusion-dependent #Thalassaemia, thanks to NICE's groundbreaking recommendation under the managed access agreement! 🌟

Let’s make this wonderful woman go viral. The far right have hijacked the absolute tragedy in Southport but this woman is standing fearless in the face of fascists. What a woman

What else can you say to this? No broadcasters or media pundits point out there has never been a trans sports champ in the 50yrs we’ve been in pro sports. The odd win in a fun run or school sports day. Since 2004, 70,000 Olympians - two have been trans. Zero medals. “Ban! Ban! Ban! Ban! Ban! Ban! They’re trashing sport!” 🙄🥤

**ARRS hits a high of 37,000 in primary care**
ARRS is the funding GP practices get from NHS England to employ practitioners with NO UPPER LIMIT of numbers
The ONLY staff they’re not allowed to use this funding for is:
- GPs themselves
- Practice nurses
We have THOUSANDS of unemployed GPs right now
NHSE clearly have the money for primary care. Why are they doing everything in their power to employ ANYONE but a GP in a GP practice?!
GPs are being phased out & replaced right before our eyes!
Feeling very "grumpy middle-aged woman" sat in tiny airport unable to block out the noise of nearby women on video games on tablets with no headphones in and talking incredibly loudly, even with my noise-cancelling earphones and loud music. Why????
Huge decisions about what medical treatments should be available should be made by experts; if risks are not known, then clinical trials are the answer, not a ban. Politicians should NEVER be making these decisions. Not for puberty blockers, not for anything.
Replying to @wesstreeting
We don’t yet know the risks of stopping pubertal hormones at this critical life stage.
That is the basis upon which I am making decisions.
I am treading cautiously in this area because the safety of children must come first.

Oh this is hysterical. 2017 @WesStreeting praising @Ed_Miliband for talking to trans people, in a podcast speaking about my daughter, a trans girl whose healthcare is now criminalised with Wes' support.
Your current policy is harming her right now. You are not listening
Oh look - someone who's actually gone to the trouble of talking with trans people when talking about trans issues! It can be done! xitter.cf/ed_miliband/status/932…

If you're going to talk about seizures, it'd be more helpful to share our simple first aid advice, Calm, Cushion, Call #ThisMorning 💜
@thismorning @catdeeley
Seizures are no laughing matter for people with #epilepsy @catdeeley.
Please do better and educated yourselves about this difficult and poorly understood condition, @thismorning 💜
This is the life! VIP treatment and reserved parking coming to teach the fantastic doctors of the future at @warwickmed today. We are always warmly welcomed, the students were engaged and asking insightful questions, kept me on my toes!
Tonight I acknowledged my final results on a wonderful trust computer system which I have used for 24 years. It has grown and evolved, the ICT team behind it have been responsive and dynamic. I hope the new EPR can live up to it. I am bereft! Must stay optimistic though
Experiencing the joys of our local A&E. It's busy and the wait is long. But the staff in triage and the waiting room are cheerful and helpful and we have had 3 tea rounds and even a porridge round! Feeling well looked after in not great circumstances @nhsuhcw thank you!
