I will move on but I'm hugely pissed off that the reason my name wasn't called at graduation is because the grad team put a mark next to my name to indicate that I'd be slow (something they assumed) and the person reading names thought it meant I wasn't there.

So that grad school doesn’t #BreakMySoul: What advice would you give your former selves if you could repeat your 2nd year of grad school? Particularly interested to know from other BIPOC and disabled individuals. @DisInGradSchool @AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

Anonymous Question "5th year grad student here, I had to switch labs last year so I'm essentially starting over. This year I was diagnosed with a chronic condition & I can barely get around the lab (I use a wheelchair but the lab isn't wheelchair friendly). How do I graduate?"

Any recs for presenting qualitative research? My work is on the lived experience of college students with disabilities during the pandemic (fall 2020 - spring 2021) and want to tell it like a research oriented story @NoStigmas @DARN_disability @AcademicAbleism #DisabilityRights

With universities rapidly dropping precautions and the CDC abandoning us, collective organizing in academia is urgently needed. Our survey data shows an overwhelming majority of respondents have had accommodations denied and calls for safety ignored despite their best efforts.

@nyulaw is giving my profs veto power over whether I can use my remote attendance accommodation under the ADA in their class. Based on only the professor’s (not my doctors’/my) assessment of reasonableness. #AcademicChatter @DisInHigherEd @DisInGradSchool

Question for @DisabledAcadem @DisInGradSchool @DisInHigherEd people If both a student and employee of a university (grad), can the student disability center & HR disability office talk about your (separate) accommodation request cases without your express permission?

This is tough because it depends on the disability. I get some flexibility w/ time sensitive things. I also need to have homework/essays in digital format to grade (but that isn’t really a problem nowadays). When I used to teach at a college before the MA program I’m in now…
