Vancouver is hobbled by congestion. We need to take big swings and reject the politics of incrementalism.
Traffic congestion is dominating the doorstep, but what about B.C.'s biggest infrastructure choices? Vancouver mayoral candidate @kareemformayor joins @mdgardiner1 and @AzimAJiwani on today's #BCWarRoom.

@kareemformayor I echo your sentiment. Thank you @vanliberals team
It has been the honour and privilege of my life to run with this @vanliberals team.
Most importantly, I couldn't have done it without my amazing wife, and today we casted our ballots.
Remember, you can vote at any location until 8pm tonight.

Today is Election Day, Vancouver!
Over the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of knocking on doors, meeting neighbours, listening to your stories, and talking about the future of our city and our public schools.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has offered encouragement, shared their concerns, volunteered their time, or simply stopped to have a conversation.
As someone who grew up in Vancouver, this city has given me so much. Putting my name forward for School Board has been one of the greatest honours of my life.
Whatever happens tonight, I’m proud of the campaign we’ve run and the people I’ve met along the way.
To everyone heading to the polls today, thank you for taking part in our democracy. Your voice matters.
Let’s make today count, Vancouver! ❤️

We sure had a lot of fun on this campaign. I believe we may have been the only municipal campaign with a trolley bus tour 🚂🚃 @NoContextBCGov

I have had an incredible 4 years learning every single day and serving my community. I love this city and the people in it. I will continue to show up for my community, and I hope it’s as a Vancouver City Councillor.

Ken Sim wants you to believe tomorrow is a choice between him and chaos.
It isn't. There's a better option, and it's on your ballot.
A year ago, a group of us started the @vanliberals because this city deserved a real choice in the centre. We're a big-tent team. We disagree on plenty, but we agree on what #Vancouver needs, and here's what we'll do:
Build more housing, faster. Adopt the BC Building Code and give builders one permitting front door instead of twelve.
Hire 400 front-line workers to fix our frontline services including garbage, roads and parks, and cut the layers of management in between.
Make streets safer by going after the money behind crime. Ban Bitcoin ATMs and crack down on money laundering.
Bring family doctors back with half-price property tax for doctors and walk-in clinics.
Keep the Park Board elected, open up City Hall with a lobbyist registry, and lower FOI costs.
Kareem has asked to be judged on one thing after four years: whether the average age in Vancouver went down. That's the whole fight. A city young people can stay in, not one they have to leave.
We don't need Ken. We don't need chaos.
We need Vancouver working for everyone.
Polls are open tomorrow from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Vote the full Vancouver Liberal team.
Together, We Can.

Thanks to Amanda and Rachael at The Beyond a Ballot Podcast for the great conversation.
My answer to what I want Vancouverites to remember: I want to bring young people back, and we won’t do it with incrementalism. Vancouver needs big swings again.
I’d be honoured to earn your vote on Oct 17.

Thank you, Rhea Santos, for having me on. I’m grateful for the opportunity to reflect on my time throughout this campaign and to reaffirm why I am running.
I am running for one reason and one reason alone, and that is to bring young people back to the city. When we fail young people, we fail every generation.
Thank you so much.
Together we can.
