Let's start with those that are easily detectable by the naked eye. That's at least 50% of slop because most of them don't bother to add anything creative, human-made. If you see it's generative AI but not ticked as such, report to Steam.

He said something and didn't include proof or source that supports his bold claims.
Opinion rejected.
Also, he knows he won't get fired because Microsoft is pushing AI all over the place.
From a user standpoint that "Made using generative AI" information has to be presented at the beginning of the game's Steam page.
We also need a proper search filter that can filter the games that have that toggle ticked on.
We love Steam and that's why we care so much.

It's just a matter of months, maybe even weeks before Valve actually decides to do something about this.
They'll have to because people can't stand generative AI slop. Nobody wants their favorite platform to become a hub for generative AI slop.
It's enough.

Some of the gamers that like to pirate are the reason why Denuvo has so much business.
It's like a thief being angry because a security business is putting cameras on their client's property.
I am rooting for Denuvo.

Yes. I agree so much.
It's like playing a monster-catching game where there is 1000 monsters and only three monsters have an original design. The rest have different colors and maybe one additional random element slapped on it.
Of course you would get nausea.

Like anything synthetic and fake, generative AI has a problematic bias in training data. All of the AI generated slop have a common set of patterns that manifest in every single output resulting in "representational fairness".

I've been working on my game for years now & the idea was to offer a demo first. But I removed that from my plan plus other ideas. My marketing plan has changed too.
Generative AI stealing situation can't be ignored by any dev. Company, indie or solo.

"nobody thinks [physical media] is necessary for a networked device like a smartphone"
What? What a terrible analogy.
Nobody thinks physical media is necessary for a smartphone because it was never a part of that culture.
Physical media is an essential part of a console DNA.

A weird-looking remake that imitates an ugly doll-like diorama style, a woke game made by women for women and a shooter game that lost its identity a decade ago.
Yeah, the biggest games of the year, for sure.

This is the fate of all of those using generative AI.
You either start working properly and with passion and dedication like the rest of us or you'll be left behind.
Generative AI has no place in game development and video games as an art form.

The fruits of generative AI slop. I am sure pro-AI people will now support Epic Games even more.

You have to broaden up your views. Not everyone has the same belief system like you.
Some of us are following a religion. And it says that stealing is forbidden. We love anime but not at the cost of something much more important and eternal.

So many people will be disappointed once the graphics honeymoon phase is over. Some even sooner considering 30 fps.
Particularly the gameplay systems will be super simple and underwhelming.

I am very happy to see these big boomer studios going generative AI. It will make them obsolete and this will give more space for smaller developers to get noticed because they offer real video games made by humans.
It's a perfect scenario if you know how to do marketing.
