Like anything synthetic and fake, generative AI has a problematic bias in training data. All of the AI generated slop have a common set of patterns that manifest in every single output resulting in "representational fairness".

How an artist that loves his craft should behave.
It's not enough to reject generative AI you also have to criticize it, hoping it might divert someone from making a bad decision.
Nicolas Cage says he’s “probably not” working with Amazon again after refusing to sign an AI waiver for #SpiderNoir:
“Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion invested in OpenAI,” Cage said at #NYCC. “I am not an AI-friendly actor, so it’s like, connect those dots! I’m not a member of their club. I didn’t sign the waiver to let him use AI on ‘Spider Noir.’ I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again, but that’s okay.”

Amazing, esoteric game and a rich series bathed in quality wherever you look: gameplay, art, music & story.
Hopefully they never remake it since it's impossible to recreate the amount of fun & quality the series has.
First two Assassin's Creed games had that same identity.
Keep going anti generative AI people.
We are so close.
BREAKING: Oracle stock, $ORCL, falls over -5% after OpenAI tells investors that its annualized revenue is $20 billion less than expected.
I agree.
Xbox 360's exclusives strategy and the way they handled JRPGs should be a starting point and an inspiration for the next-generation of Xbox.
Exclusive variety paired with quality is the key.

I'm the opposite.
I'm currently playing a bunch of open-world games (old and new) and I'm finding all kinds of practices in game design that I would never implement and some of them that I might implement but in a better, original way. It's a great opportunity to learn.
One episode of this masterpiece has more creative juice than the last 10 years of modern anime combined.
Especially important for creatives that want to elevate their work. First watch is for the story, the second and the third to discover and analyze all of the artistic gems.
The author obviously knew a lot about traditional color theory. What a feast for the eyes.
In my humble opinion, using colors properly is the ultimate skill that separates beginners from professionals. It's way more important than anatomy, theme & composition.
Such a cool and admirable response.
It's sad that so many people have lost the spark & the passion to create art, code, things.
But the most dangerous outcome is that generative AI slop producers are now trying to kill that spark & passion in other people too.
It's fall, y'all! At least up here in the northern hemisphere - as the temperatures drop and the leaves turn crispy, what better way to celebrate than with discounts on tons of games?
Live now until October 8th, discounts galore on games of all types!

I'm a solo game developer working on an open world game and my manifesto is to listen to myself and ignore everybody else. I don't care what gamers and especially streamers/journalists think.
Musicians, film makers, painters they all do this except for game devs.
Gamers are getting tired of streamers having so much influence over game development this is popping up around WARDOGS, WoW, Diablo, and ARC Raiders.
Gamers say that someone who plays a game 8–12 hours a day is going to see it very differently from someone who only has a few hours a week to play.
Streamers still can spot problems and give useful feedback, especially from users who watch them.
But some big streamers shouldn’t speak for the entire player base, and devs need to listen to the wider community who work the full week and just have some hours to play to have fun after a huge day of work.
The duality of Microsoft.
You have this tremendous win scored by the Xbox team and every single step of the way is executed perfectly so far.
And then you have the Windows team that adds AI agents slop into our desktop OS that worked perfectly fine without them for decades.
