The screenshots on the Steam page look amazing.
It's realistic but has style and unique art direction, something that's missing in many modern titles.
Hopefully they'll deliver. Even if they deliver 50% of what's shown in the screenshots I would be happy.

Has nothing to do with dev kits or Switch and everything to do with lazy modern devs.
Optimization requires knowing how an engine works, profiling, testing, experimentation. It's an art.

I) looks sexy
II) Killzone, Resistance, MotorStorm
III) plays 15+ audio & video formats
IV) the last PlayStation console where developers were still experimenting with gameplay mechanics & weren't afraid to explore bold ideas
V) games are full on disc

Modern game devs are lazy and not really that passionate about their craft. 30 FPS on a hardware that is comparable to PS4 Pro is not that impressive of an optimization.
The game is using an expanded GOAP (Goal Oriented Action Planning) AI system. The same system, although simpler, was used in F.E.A.R.
Great games and the engineers behind them are some of the best in the industry. Peter Higley is one of them.

I didn't fail anything.
We all know how mainline Pokemon games almost always underdeliver when it comes to texture work. Especially environment textures. Arceus is the only one that had a couple of acceptable textures but that's all.
They need to do better. 10 times better.
