The Windrush Scandal broke in 2018. A change in policy had meant 1000s of people who had spent most of their lives in Britain were being wrongly treated as illegal immigrants. Chris Hayibor, a Windrush compensation scheme claimant, explains his story. It has been ten years since the Home Office admitted they made a mistake, and twenty years since he has been fighting his case. The scandal became associated with people from the Caribbean. But people from across the world, including Africa and South Asia, were affected too. They are still seeking justice.
