Our lab has faced the greatest loss imaginable. To us Arren was a mentor, a supervisor, a friend and the head of a family. We are shocked and speechless. Our thoughts are with everyone who got to know this unique genius. He will be sorely missed.

Vision paper 'On the case for biotech on Mars' in Nature Biotech: nature.com/articles/s41587-0…, not many revolutionary points, but they mention methanol as carbon source for bioproduction on Mars! Consider formate as well? Methanol needs a bit more chemical catalysis steps to be made!
