You couldn't make this up... @hackneycouncil spend £££ planting lots of new trees on #AmhurstRoad as part of their "linear park" design, then Hackney Council contractors come and cut down two mature fruit trees on the same road, with no notice and against residents' objections.
#TFL has now announced their plans for the 19 and 38 bus routes. I previously submitted a recommendation to this consultation, months ago, on behalf of the @HackneyLibDems. I’m pleased to say that my recommendation was partially accepted, which is a win! Details below.
Hackney is double barrelled!
The Green Party narrowly held the #HackneyCentral ward by-election yesterday. Their new councillor has a double barrelled name, as do the other two previously elected councillors, plus the Labour and Lib Dem candidates yesterday.
Is this a first?!

We should not allow political parties, leaders, and elections to be bought and sold. @Nigel_Farage cannot say that he has not been bought for £5m and what he is doing with the money. I told @UKHouseofLords that we need to put a cap on the maximum size of donations to parties.
Thought I'd water the plants on the new "linear park" on Amhurst Road, since #Hackney Council isn't, and several of them seem to be dying.
Before I first stood for Parliament in Hackney, for the Lib Dems in 2010, I bought a house in the area, so that I could live where I hoped to represent.
The estate agent told me that they could work with the vendor to employ a common trick to pay less stamp duty.

During an Urgent Question on the economy I pressed the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, @darrenpjones on his bogus claim the budget has kick-started growth and the urgent need to re-engage with Europe.
His guarded response was disappointing, but not as disheartening as the baleful jeers from the Conservatives when I mentioned the EU.
