We’re so proud of our fantastic parliamentary team. We managed to secured 1,562 votes in Hackney North and 1,996 in Hackney South.
Thank you too our voters! We will continue to fly the liberal flag and fight for a fair deal in Hackney! 🔶
Great to have support for Hackney's @Moth_Club from @HinaBokhariLD , our leader in the London Assembly!
We must protect precious venues like Hackney's @Moth_Club & not allow poorly designed housing plans threaten its survival. But there are so many other threats to navigate. The industry is on its knees begging for help. What will it take for the Chancellor to listen and act?
From our leader in the London Assembly!
Proud to speak for so many communities this week, many who need the London Assembly to amplify their voice. From exploited domestic workers to trapped leaseholders. Grateful to everyone working with me to make London fairer, safer and more compassionate.
ALT My Weekly Update Hina Bokhari OBE AM • Attended the Fire Committee’s investigation into the threat posed to the health of London’s firefighters by contaminants. • Appeared on Islam Channel to talk about my story in politics so far, and why I think being politically active is so important. • Proposed two motions to the London Assembly, one to improve investigations with an into tragedies like Grenfel with a National Oversight Mechanism and a motion on protecting domestic workers from exploitation and modern slavery. Both of which passed the Assembly. - Questioned Deputy Mayors about missed accessible housing targets and leaseholder rights. • Seconded a motion calling for the Mayor to improve training on religious hate crime including Islamophobia, which also passed. * Supported ALDC training sessions for LibDems. • Will be campaigning alongside Hackney Liberal Democrats this weekend – speaking to residents about the issues that matter to them. Friday 5th December

What a vibe! Yesterday @LondonLibDems held their conference in @SouthwarkColl. The atmosphere was electric!
The @LibDems will speak up for the capital city, bring communities together & have positive solutions to improve lives. We care about you, your families and your future.
ALT Hina with Ed Davey and loads of London LibDems behind them!
Hackney Liberal Democrats are shocked and deeply saddened by the attack on a synagogue in Manchester on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those in Manchester and also our Jewish community here in Hackney. 🧵
Luke Taylor MP, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for London added
“The attack on Jewish worshipers in Manchester is horrific.
These murders are shocking and senseless, and this incident will create fear for Jewish people across London and the UK as they mark Yom Kippur.

Expanding UK airports won't create economic growth (aside from the airport/airlines themselves). And they make a mockery of #NetZero.
What a depressing announcement by the Government today 😞 🤬

It would surely be easier, less compromising of our principles and more productive, to head off to Brussels to start serious negotiations on joining the Customs Union🤦🏻♂️
During an Urgent Question on the economy I pressed the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, @darrenpjones on his bogus claim the budget has kick-started growth and the urgent need to re-engage with Europe.
His guarded response was disappointing, but not as disheartening as the baleful jeers from the Conservatives when I mentioned the EU.
Do the Tories still not realise BREXIT WAS A DISASTER!
Definitely newsworthy, you can smell just now bad the air is today!
Air quality in London this evening is actively hazardous to health and nobody seems to be talking about it. Time to find those N95 masks in the back of the cupboard if you can't stay indoors. iqair.com/gb/air-quality-map…

Props to @munirawilson @LibDems for actually being a constructive Opposition, instead of shameful display from the Tories.
They have already tabled this amendment for the Committee stage. It would keep the Government to its commitment to implement all the Jay Recommendations.

Great to be out delivering for brilliant @temc74 @HackneyLibDems today in #StokeNewington. Trying hard to resist all the cake shops 🍩😄
There is no excuse for Hackney council to be harassing innocent residents like this.
This crisis should have been solved years ago and yet its Hackney resident who are facing the brunt of Labours failure.
Hackney council needs to get a grip before more people are affected.
