This semester I taught a FY speaking and writing course on Gender-Based Violence titled, #ManorBear: Public Discourse on Violence Against Women. I’m thankful for the opportunity to write about this through the lens of faith and politics with @PRRIpoll

“As a general rule,” the Episcopal priest Barbara Brown Taylor has said, “I would say that human beings never behave more badly toward one another than when they believe they are protecting God.”
(As quoted in the The Atlantic, Peter Werner, “The Evangelicals Made A Bad Trade”)
Another import contribution by the brilliant @Davidcarr.

Over the summer, I wrote about the Trump Bible in light of his grifting practices (religiondispatches.org/trump…. ) In a recent interview with CNN, my @PRRIpoll colleague @Shortle expands our collective understanding of its social and political implications for Oklahoma public schools.
I am thrilled to share my @CNN segment on @TheSourceCNN. As my colleague @profsamperry says, nobody should know who your state's superintendent of schools is. Especially when that superintendent is prioritizing culture wars over student health and safety.

"Why did the Trump team choose sneakers over Bibles when looking to court Black voters? And why the local beauty supply store and not the storefront church?" @DaraDelgado writes about Trump's oddly racialized campaign merch: ow.ly/j8UY50SPaix
